Re: Del Rio pushed exactly like Eddie Guerrero?
He's more like the Mexican JBL (and we'll see how that works as a face). For a ton of guys, their first title victories are dirty and unexpected upsets, Guerrero's no different. Goldberg interfered to help Guerrero, Ricardo nudging Alberto's foot to get him outside the ring and 'on his feet' after the KO punch (legal, but interference so not a 'clean' win), Punk and anyone else using MITB (and his win over Cena AT MITB was thx to distractions), John Cena shanking JBL twice when the camera was turned, Angle had interference to beat Rock at No Mercy 2000. Heck, Sheamus' win over Bryan was 'dirty' in that it required a distraction, and his tables match win over Cena to get the WWE title was clean but it was far from a meaningful victory (even though I pretend it is cuz I love Sheamus).
So, a lot of wrestlers are 'eased into' the title picture by giving them dirty upset wins. Then once they're credible they start getting clean wins (or once they're not facing protected stars like Lesnar and Cena). I guess WWE doesn't wanna jump the gun and give a clean loss to a big champion cuz they don't know that the new champion will be a successful star or not. Having Punk cleanly beat Cena, or Guerrero cleanly beat Lesnar, could have been enormously damaging to those characters, and they didn't know yet if Guerrero or Punk would be successful yet. They don't know if Del Rio will be a big star, so they didn't wanna just bury the Big Show. If Del Rio gets great reactions, hopefully he'll then cleanly pin (or SUBMIT!!!) Big Show at Royal Rumble.

Oh I'm sorry, wrestlers are supposed to invent their entire moveset? Retired wrestlers always have their moves copied, let alone psychopaths undeserving of respect. Also, the first time Daniel Bryan said "I lack charisma, I read comic books, I'm the best wrestler on the roster," he officially surpassed Chris Benoit on the microphone.

Re: Del Rio pushed exactly like Eddie Guerrero?
Hmm........... Eddie was over for years and worked the undercard winning tag and mid card titles and mid card storylines before big WM title win. Del Rio just beat jobbers and Mysterio before winning the Rumble, LOSING at the opener at mania and given 2 WWE titles reings that lasted under two months. I just don't see the comparision.

Re: Del Rio pushed exactly like Eddie Guerrero?
I can see *some* similiarities between the two as far as winning the title... the big thing is, ADR should've won it at the Rumble with a proper build up. Eddie Guerrero winning the title off Lesnar IMO is one of the most memorable matches in wrestling ever. I don't care if you don't even like the guy, him reversing the F5 into a tornado DDT on the belt, then following up with a frog splash is one of the best mark out moments in the history of the business.

Re: Del Rio pushed exactly like Eddie Guerrero?
The only similarity is that they beat "unbeatable" heels. Other than that completely different. Eddie winning was the culmination of his career and it was more like redemption for him. Del Rio got two WWE title reigns a year into his WWE career. And, Eddie didn't get a transitional reign like Del Rio most likely will.

Re: Del Rio pushed exactly like Eddie Guerrero?
Not really. Eddie Guerrero was a midcarder for life who finally got his big moment in the main event when he beat Lesnar.
Del Rio is one of the company's golden boys who is almost constantly pushed.

Re: Del Rio pushed exactly like Eddie Guerrero?
it just sucks that ADR won the belt on taped smackdown. it makes the belt even more look like shit. why not have some proper build up instead and have a title match @ Royal Rumble
