I recorded Smackdown for the first time in months and despite a few decent matches, it just seemed like a complete waste of time and irrelevance. The 3 hour supershow has completely killed it. Even a year ago i felt the need to watch to see the likes of Bryan, Henry and Christian as they didn't get much time on Raw but now the shows main stars probably get even more time on Raw than they do on Smackdown. I wish they would just end it tbh.

Wade Barrett vs Kofi was definitely match of the night. I'm a HUGE mark for Barrett so I was really looking forward to this match more than anything on the card, although I was somewhat worried it wouldn't be as good or better than Heath/Miz, It was better than that match.

I mean, Wade has the BRAINS, he's smart inside that squared circle. Not only do you need to muscle, and ability, you also need the brain & the mental. He knew to roll himself out of the ring after that Trouble In Paradise. That was smart. And the ending of the match was SICK. That Bull Hammer in mid-air was awesome to see, and I'm glad it ended that way, it couldn't have ended any other way.

And even though Barrett doesn't have the best character, he's still awesome in that ring. And Kofi was great too, not gonna ignore that.

And to be honest, if Wade's doing stuff in the midcard for the US title or IC title by later this year, I won't be pissed because although the IC/US title isn't as important and relevant as the WHC & WWE title, the way they showcase it and do interviews with Kofi/Wade on Main Event and SmackDown, they make it seem like it's somewhat of a big deal.

I liked Barrett's Promo where he cut Striker off. I think this may be the beginning of a decent run, wonder who he's next opponent is.

It's been a while since we've had a lot of mic time from Barrett but both promos from this week have reminded just how brilliant he is on the mic.

I agree this could be the start of a decent run as champion and can make the belt matter. Have a few months as IC champ. Drop it to a face who deserves it, then finally make his way into the World Championship picture.
