I just watched Smackdown on Youtube, and it is much better than the New Year's Eve Raw. The show kicked off to an nice segment between Randy Orton, Sheamus, Big Show, and Antonio Cesaro. This segment shows that Sheamus and Randy Orton has some heat with each other, and I wouldn't mind a future feud between the two.
The Miz vs Heath Slater turned out to be a surprisingly long and very good match. It seems like they might have something in store for 3MB.
The 6 Man Tag Match with Khali and Hornswoggle in it was a bathroom break.
Wade Barrett vs Kofi Kingston for the IC Title was a pretty good match with a great ending. I was interested to see this match because of what happened between Kingston and Barrett on Main Event.
Tamina beating Layla shows that WWE might be high on Tamina.
The Main Event Tag Team Match further continues to show the tension between Randy Orton and Sheamus.
Not a bad way to kick off Smackdown in 2013. Out of the TV wrestling shows of Raw, Smackdown, and TNA, Smackdown had the best show this week.
Holy shit Miz/Slater was really enjoyable and got good time. A long match for a guy like Slater against a guy of Miz' stature in the company is huge, imo.

How long before Booker starts saying 'hold on a minute there playas!' when he comes out to interrupt arguing superstars and make a tag-team main event? The Smackdown head writer must literally be one of the most unimaginative people in the world, the show is the same every week. Also neither of the things that were advertized in tonight's intro (The Shield and Del Rio) were featured. Kofi's promo was good though. I want to see him be more of a bad-ass.

Let's be real, Miz vs Slater was a fucking great match for a SmackDown TV match. This shows that Slater can deliver and not just be a whipping boy for babyfaces such as Miz, Orton, Cena, etc. That was really good. I wish Slater would've won, though.

Completely agreed. I was so pleasantly surprised as to how it turned out. Hopefully the higher ups noticed as well.
