JBL is the MVP of Smackdown
Just finished watching Smackdown on Hulu Plus. Maybe it's cuz I'm comparing him to his Raw counterpart Lawler(who absolutely sucks), but fuck is JBL good at what he does. He's funny as hell, busts that cornball Josh Matthews' balls the entire show, and just elevates the entire broadcast. I don't even care who's wrestling who cuz JBL is there to make it entertaining no matter what.

He's quickly becoming one of my favorites announcers of all time. He's got a great announcers voice , he knows how to commentate properly and is always insightful while entertaining at the same time. Reminds of JR somewhat

Re: JBL is the MVP of Smackdown
He actually makes Smackdown worth catching on Friday Nights , giving me a valid excuse to not go see Breaking Dawn PT. 2 again with my girlfriend
In all seriousness, he pretty much carries that show IMO. It's about time they show Smackdown some #Respect and give them a main event on a PPV... TLC would be the perfect opportunity for that actually. I know plenty of people who just watch Smackdown and rarely watch Raw that happen to be super-smackdown marks that think Sheamus is the GOAT (slight exaggeration).

I hate him. He's annoying. He puts himself over to much. He distracts from the show and tries to hard to be a smart ass. Fire him please and bring back Booker and Cole.

Re: JBL is the MVP of Smackdown
He reminds me of Jesse "The Body" Ventura is a lot of ways. Obviously not the "characters" but the really tough but like able heel announcer.

I respectfully disagree. I love Booker's commentary, especially the way he'd always sound so genuinely excited about what was happening, but JBL is exactly what the booth needs right now. idk how he distracts from the show, he pays more attention to it than Cole or Lawler (unless the segment involves Cena, Hornswoggle or Punk).

Talent/charisma draws. Not size.

Actually, he doesn't - he puts the superstars over. In fact, at NOC, he put Punk over more in just a few words than anyone had in almost a year. JBL is a breath of fresh air - but he should be on RAW, not SD.

Re: JBL is the MVP of Smackdown
I used to not care for JBL, but he is a breath of fresh air in the broadcast table. He does the heel broadcaster role right, without being annoying. Similar to Jesse the Body Ventura in that way, only I find JBL to be hilarious. Especially when he goes off on Cole. I love it.
