I know a lot of people are looking forward to a potential heel turn but people looked forward to Punk's heel turn and that's basically turned him into a massive bitch.

WWE recently haven't booked heels as particularly capable, they'll beat jobbers but mainly they'll run away when it gets too much. Del Rio and Show have their moments but even they'll try and avoid fighting people like Sheamus when they figure it's out of their league.

Be fair to Ziggler's character, he gets beat a lot but he doesn't do that much running away. He fights and gets whooped, occasionally gets chumped out especially when he tries to cash in his MitB, but I wouldn't class him as a typically cowardly heel. Punk's taking it to the limit though and it's a justified character arc, becoming obsessed with holding onto his title so the threats to it grow bigger and bigger until he really fears them.

I've been re-watching early 1997 WWF recently and the heels then would gladly announce that they will win by 'hook or by crook'. Even some of the faces would admit they'd happily cheat to win.

I think we need a bit more of that, rather than everyone claiming to be righteous. That's where an Orton heel would come from I think. By hook or by crook.

Hopefully not. I hate this generic Face/Heel build where everyone acts the same (chicken-shit Heel, pandering Face), they need to have Orton remain with this attitude of his, but as a Heel. Seriously we need a legit top Heel who doesn't back away from anything, a serious threat. I'm tired of seeing Heels back away from fights.

I think Randy has the potential to be the top heel, not a chicken one. I actually can see him hunting down his opponents, mostly by surprise... But I don't want to see Orton run away from challenges.
