Randy Orton angle
Right now I would say on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being most entertaining I would give Orton a 4. Even as a heel recently his work was below average. There was no real story for him to tell in the ring. So many on here have said that he has become a thing of the past, and his title reigns seem like a total waste at this point. Since wrestling is hardly original. Why not pull a page from Scott Steiner's book? How about a "Fake Retirement" angle? It worked great for Steiner, and I think the WWE could really take it to the next level with Randy.
Have a speech ready to go with Jim Ross doing a live interview on Raw in the ring telling the fans, and viewing audience that this is not a work, and in fact Randy Orton will announce his retirement from professional wrestling. Obviously this comes from a mishap during a match with a fellow WWE superstar at a house show. Ironically the WWE would have "fan" footage of Orton working an "injury". Orton continues the match instead of just quitting, and it probably ruined his career. However, we don't get this interview with Randy for a few weeks, or a few months as he is recovering from a serious spinal chord injury.
Once Jim Ross gives him his final interview it is months after the initial injury. Orton, and his whole family are present during this time. He asks his wife, and children to leave as he doesn't want them to see him breakdown in tears. Crowd is going nuts, and is chanting Orton. I mean they are really soaking in the mud on this. Orton really tries, but can't speak because he is to choked up. Then from out of what seems like thin air Orton hits Jim Ross with The RKO, rips his neck brace off, and stomps a mud hole in him live on Raw. Orton snaps, and says he is the greatest professional wrestling entertainer that was ever born, and that he is going to change the direction of wrestling as we know it.

Re: Randy Orton angle
This sounds terrible.
Randy Orton needs to go trade places with someone on the midcard who has actual appeal, and cool his heels for a minute.

This part makes no sense why would he tell his family to leave the ring so they wouldn't see him break down in tears, yet he was about to infront of 16.000 people, and a few more millions watching? And his family could always see the replay, no? And it completely goes against his character.
Anyway the 'ending that starts' this storyline is actually interesting and well thought, but its build could be a lot better. Have him lose matches for like 2 months in a row and tell the crowd that he doesn't have 'it' already and he's retiring for such. Then the RKO to JR would actually be cool.

Re: Randy Orton angle
I would like to see Orton and Cena taken off TV for about 5 to 6 months and then brought back repackaged.

Fake retirements dilute real retirements.

and that is the worst idea. They only pull that line when something's actually happening, and with good reason. Last we heard that, Jerry Lawler was on his way to the hospital.
Yeah, not a fan of your idea, especially since it shatters kayfabe for no real reason.

Greatest angle/idea I have heard...
...in the last two minutes due to process of default because it's the only idea I have heard in the previous two minutes.

Re: Randy Orton angle
I just remembered something, Orton did something similar a while ago in 2005 I think. He went to the ring claiming he was retiring and then RKO'd someone that I can't remember who it was now, and ended up not retiring at all, so doing it again would be overkill and his real retirement speech in the future would be ruined and unbealivable.

Re: Randy Orton angle
Orton is nothing close to himself as the Legend Killer. He used to have epic promos, but right now, it's only "My name... Is Randy orton". BOring

Re: Randy Orton angle
I used to be a huge Orton fanboy in 2009. He sucks now. I don't know if I'd be able to like him again if he turned heel
