Sin Cara hasn't connected with the fans the same way that Mysterio has. Mysterio balanced his style and delivery with a great underdog persona; his family man shtick has helped the fans to see the man behind the mask. Sin Cara still feels like a novelty. I guess it's because he hasn't been able to build up any momentum. Those injuries have really stalled his development and that Sin Cara vs Sin Cara feud (though inventive) was confusing and alienating to the younger fanbase (the very people that Sin Cara is marketed at). His WWE run has been memorable for all the wrong reasons.

He took the mask off and instantly became a top tier in-ring guy. Even with the mask, his performances were consistently better than Sin Cara's.

That mask really is terrible, but what does Sin Cara have without it?

2011 wasn't that long ago. I don't know what it is that's been lost in the translation since Mistico took up the Sin Cara mantle in WWE. Maybe I was wrong, maybe it was the people around him making him look great, IDK. But when I watch his CMLL work I can't help but think what a talent he is.

His present work isn't nearly the abomination most people posting here make it out to be, even if it isn't up snuff comparatively.

Getting hurt and being suspended put a huge tamper on Sin Cara's chances for success because it didn't allow the audience to really latch on to him when he was away. Personally, I think Hunico should be groomed as Mysterio's replacement but apparently they think he's better as a gangster than the heir to the lucha throne. Sin Cara doesn't get much of a reaction and that's after a month or so of teaming with Rey so where do they really think they're going to go with him?

The whole thing with cara started bad,the wwe thought they can throw him in the ring and everything is fine.
What they didnt see is that cara is no mysterio,mysterio was wrestling in america since he was young(i think 16)he could adapt his lucha libre style to the american wrestling.

Cara wrestled almost his whole life in mexico with a 100% lucha libre style.
They throw a mask onto him where he sees almost nothing,turn a light on that makes it even hard for guy without a mask on to work in it.
As if that and the language problem wouldnt be enough he steps in the ring with guys who never even trained with a real lucha libre wrestler.
How could they think this will work out well?

I don't even hate Sin Cara, but he's rather limited in the WWE. The guy REALLY needs to adapt his style in order to work with more people. It's unreasonable to expect everyone else to adapt to his style.
