except, Sheamus still put on entertaining promos as the Kick-ass Celtic warrior, he reminded me of Triple-H. Orton however barely puts on entertaining promos in his current gimmick, which is why he needs to turn heel.

Re: What da hell happened to Sheamus?
I don't have a problem the way he is now. I find it amusing.
But wouldn't complain if they go back to the Sheamus of July 2011 to March 2012. Just don't turn the guy heel. The WWE already in the trash bin when it comes to babyfaces (Cena/Sheamus/Orton/Ryback(soon) are the only ones left). and Orton is the one thats needs a heel turn

Re: What da hell happened to Sheamus?
I really see no reason why Sheamus' promos have absolutely no depth or any real "point".
Him being a badass would make it a little more bearable, but yeah, he can be the happy-go-lucky dude - but just give his character some depth.

Re: What da hell happened to Sheamus?
To use John Cena and Stone Cold as benchmarks, they've tried to make him like Cena. Happy-go-lucky, always smiling when really he should have been like Stone Cold. Beer-drinking kick-ass brawler. Sheamus is stereotypically Irish. It just suits him. But no WWE can't have that for whatever reason.

Re: What da hell happened to Sheamus?
Too many Sheamus threads... I'm getting mad having to repeat the same over and over and over. But I agree with the OP.
Brogue Kick says not everybody has to be serious. OK. Big Show is an excellent smiling face. Rey Mysterio is a very good smiling face. Zack Ryder is a passable smiling face. But Sheamus? Sheamus can be funny when he's the barbarian who suddenly cracks a joke and nobody expected that.
However, Sheamus needs to be The Celtic Warrior. That's the gimmick he created, that's the gimmick people loved and that's the gimmick that suits him. How I said in another thread, the brute inspired by Celtic mythology and History, not the lame corny guy who makes terrible jokes, smiles and talks about being a bully.
Is Orton boring? Maybe, it's your opinion. But anyway he's hugely over with the crowd because he's not a generic happy-go-lucky babyface but a psycho badass that RKOs anyone who opposes him. That kind of faces are necesary because the product need variety. Triple H, Undertaker and Kane have been huge faces despite not having happy-go-lucky characters. If you turn Cena into a smiling corny guy, CM Punk into a smiling corny guy(when he was face), and Sheamus into a smiling corny guy, the result is the crowd cheering the heels.
That's not a "Sheamus should be heel". I think Sheamus can be a great face. But the gimmick that fits him is the Celtic Warrior. The intimidating Irish laoch.
One more time: bring back the crossos, the cloak and the fiery red hand from FCW, the wild look, the black and green colours, drop the Great White moniker and the goody-twho-shoes attitude, and carry a battle axe to the ring like when he was Sheamus O'Shaunessy. Even the facepaint would be welcome, at least by me.

Aside from Ryback and I guess you can say Orton, what face isn't a comedy act?
On that note, what heel isn't cowardly?
This what the WWE has been promoting for quite sometime. Happy Go Lucky Faces who dominant and Cowardly Heels.

Re: What da hell happened to Sheamus?
I think that part of it has to do with what has happened with Orton. Orton was the top Happy-Go-Lucky face of the brand and then things happened which caused him to stay gone for awhile. So they decided to stick a bigger rocket on Sheamus and push him to the moon as a bigger face than he already was.
I have liked Sheamus since he made his debut, but he is much better as a heel or a face with at least some attitude. I'm still waiting for Triple H to come out and they be buddy buddy after the last time they interacted on TV, which Sheamus "injured" him and bragged about it for months.
