Plenty on here have said that since his "face" turn Sheamus has been awful character wise. I would say that I agree for the most part. He has been watered down, and I think it takes away from what originally made him popular in the first place. Granted this is a PG production, but I think they can still make his character a bit less watered down, while maintaining the "face" role.

What's wrong with a Guinness drinking ass kicker? The WWE did it with Austin, and they did it creatively. Austin's popularity with young adult males was partially due to his liking of alcohol. A good beer, or two after a solid fight was what made him "one tough S.O.B". Could this work for Sheamus. Yes, Sheamus has talked about putting a few back, but it always seemed overshadowed by something else. Austin made it very clear it was time to kick ass, and drink beer.

No, I don't think Sheamus should have fans throw him Guinness, or ask fans for a "Oh Hell Yeah", but I don't see a problem with him being a rough, hard-nosed, Guinness drinking ass kicker. Obviously this should all tie in to a character that is merely about kicking ass, just as Stone Cold Steve Austin's was. At times they have shown his aggressive nature, and I think that should continue He needs things to identify with a larger male audience. Sheamus as a "face" is fine by me as long as he is intimidating in the ring, and on the mic. Watering him down does nothing for him other than make him stale.

He's already enough of the Irish stereotype. Having him drink Guinness beer will just ad to that and I don't think it's necessary. I'm not really sure if it would hurt or help his image with the fans though.

Drinking really isn't a stereotype for the Irish. Have you been to Ireland? I have, and they love their alcohol. No, not all Irish people drink, but it's a huge part of culture. Over in Europe in general alcohol has a different history. Granted they have their problems with alcoholism, violence, and car accidents, but I wouldn't call this a stereotype.

Hell they could have Hornswoggle as his manager/Leprechaun, and bring back Fit Finlay to play his uncle. They could have his music changed to something more traditionally Irish themed. He could then put himself on a box of Lucky Charms, and be their new WWE sponsor. He could melt the WHC in to a bunch of gold coins. There is so much more that would add to the stereotype than what I have suggested. He should be kicking ass, drinking beer, and proving himself to be the toughest man in the WWE.

Irish curse. That is all. If you know the meaning of the terms, that pretty much ends the thread. An alcohol added to his gimmick would do him no good, it would be soon enough that we will hear "small dick" chants.

The Celtic Warrior was marketable, intimidating, unique and had mystique around it. For me Sheamus doing anything else is an epic fail from WWE.

to even compare Sheamus and Austin is ridiculous, Austin drinking beer and kicking ass didnt get him over, it was his intensity in a promo and his mic skills.

Sheamus does not have either of these at the moment. He'd be better of as a brutal, destructo heel...
