Randy Orton is still the most over superstar in all WWE
Montreal just proved that. He's been quite irrelevant this year I must say, yet he was the only face that actually got real face reactions except Hart, (for obvious reasons) and maybe Sheamus.
Huge pop for his entrance
No boos whatsoever
Cheered along the match
"Randy! Randy! Randy!" chants when he was being beat down by Punk/Ziggler
And all of this in one of the smarkiest cities in the world, so don't start with the "Kidz & Womenz" shtick, those chants were obviously unanimous and loud as hell.
Unless a new face steps up to at least get 75% that over, Orton is not turning Heel anytime soon, which kinda sucks since he's better at it, and he himself wants to do so.
But on another note, Sheamus got a much different reaction that I expected. He was pretty cheered.

Hmm Sheamus barely got the reaction that they'd hope their new main face would be getting, it's been mixed all year.
There were plenty of loud CM Punk chants during the match with Orton.

According to Live reports, Ryback actually received the biggest entrance pop. The most boos were actually when Booker announced that he is stripping Sheamus off his title.

For a guy that really hasn't been pushed hard in a year, it's amazing to see how over he still is. He's the most over guy on the Smackdown roster.

Maybe the wwe will turn Sheamus heel...but where would that leave Ziggler? Hes quickly becoming the top heel on smackdown, if he isnt already.

Re: Randy Orton is still the most over superstar in all WWE
It really shows you how much the 2009 Wrestlemania feud against HHH/Mcmahons helped him, established him as a main event talent. And people actually complain that he got 'buried' just because he lost to a 15 yr veteran in the company in the main event of wrestlemania, who was the babyface of the feud. Dont get me wrong though, Orton is a terrific talent and one of the best in the company easily, but the 2009 feud was the ultimate catalyst to his face turn that hapenned months later which he is still riding on till now. I dont think people who constantly complain fully understand the significance of that feud in Orton's career.

Sheamus is definetly better as a heel IMO... Back on point, Orton was definetly over with that live crowd (and most crowds), not sure if he's the most over in all of WWE though...

Sheamus' segment was right after the Lawler thing.

Re: Randy Orton is still the most over superstar in all WWE
I'm not so sure he is. I think the idea of who's the most over is up to your definition of it, but I don't think he gets the biggest pops right now. Cena still does. Orton is the most popped superstar that doesn't get boos though, yes.
Bryan, Punk, and Ryback of all people seem to get the biggest pops aside from Cena and Orton right now. Kane, Sheamus, Kofi, Ziggler, and Miz also get decent pops, but not as consistently.

With Punk turning heel, he probably is the most consistently popped for superstar. Not the most over on the main roster though as Cena still wins in that category.
