Orton's actually in a great spot. He has achieved just about everything he set out to do in terms of accolades, is one of the biggest stars in WWE but doesn't need the extra stress of main eventing and carrying media interviews so he's in a very good, more specifically comfortable spot I'd say.

Orton will never be able to provoke all that heel heat that CM Punk did. Orton is also vastly overrated, with mediocre wrestling abilities, and poor mic skills.

I know there is a bandwagon for Orton's so called poor mic skills, which no one ever backs up.
So i can see why you would use that to insult Orton, as it is a 'go to' insult when talking about him. Thats fine...
But questionning his wrestling ability? Thats a new one.
Care to back that up?

"Lol, Orton speaks so slow and monotone..."
I always laugh at that.
Then I read something like "Dolph isn't a good talker, he just talks quick". Eh.
---
Anyways, yeah, crazy how Orton is over, having in mind the circumstances that he has been through this year.
Still, as impressive as that is, Ryback's pop was fucking fantastic.
Oh and you two, stop arguing about Riley and Drew... They're both awesome. I'd choose Drew over Riley, easily, but Riley has got tons of potential.

Because he does in fact talks slow, and monotonous
None of his promos has ever compelled or engage me. No sign of emotional investment, just shitty acting throughout his promos and mannerisms.
As for Orton wrestling abilities, it has been proven many times as individuals before has listed out his limited moveset with less than stellar moves, but blind marks will avoid this fact. It's okay.
Avoiding the truth. The way of the mark.

Slow, monotonous, and emotionless is part of his character. Orton's character is basically an enigma. When he has an emotionless expression on face, you don't know what he could be thinking about, and when he rages and pounds on the mat, he turns into one of the most dangerous men on the roster. All of this mostly appeals to his heel character, but Orton's current character still has some of his heel character traits, but he shows a bit more charisma and a bit more edge.

Then by your logic, Undertaker is a horrible Mic Worker as well. He also talks slow and monotone. It's part of their gimmicks, you don't expect them to act like Eugene with gimmicks like that do you?
Limited move-set? Lets see what he has used these last two years.
RKO
Backbreaker
Hangman's DDT
DDT
Superplex
Powerslam/Scoop Slam
Dropkick
Turnbuckle Rollup
Back Body Drop
Gutrench-Lift Neckbreaker
Reverse Boston Crab
Body Slam
Suplex
10-Chest Thumps
European Uppercut
Lou Thez Press
Knee Drop
'Olympic' Slam
And I think I've missed some
Limited? Come on son. You talk about "blind marks", you should look at the "blind hate".

Basically every segment/match was over shadowed by the Lawler situation, hence why not many people were into the matches/segments except for the last promo with Cena, Punk, and Bret.

This types of promo applies to The Undertaker because of his gimmick. Randy has no gimmick. He is cookie cutter. Second of all, Orton barely uses all those moves, some I haven't seen in years. I expect them to talk like some of the wrestlers did in the 90s, when they all cut promos passionately and with eloquence. RKO lack of in-depth in his character is also what makes him stale.
