I suggest they remove the WORLD from it and make it the Smackdown Championship. Whoever wins it is champion of Smackdown only. Whoever wins WWE title is champ of it all. That way it's second title and doesn't sound silly as a world title.

Not the best advertisement for Smackdown right there... leads me to think that they're planning on unifying the titles soon; especially with this dispute between Punk and Sheamus.

My only problem is the way he said it. It's not the first time I've had a problem with the way Punk has said things. His promo with ADR springs to mind here. If he phrased it differently it wouldn't have come off so bad. I actually cringed as soon as I heard it though. You can't prevent your natural reactions to things.

No. I meant as in he said that and it never played into a storyline. Punk is getting to address his issue with being treated second best to Cena and they have turned it into a storyline. Is Seamus going to get to come out next week and take issue with what Punk said? Is he going to start demanding respect because he never gets to main event shows? Is he going to start complaining because he gets overshadowed by the Rock and is he then going to get to main event a PPV with Rock? Like I said before, it really doesn't bother me as much as others. It will be forgotten about, just like Triple H's broomstick comment which was a lot worse lol but I don't think Punk should have said this the way he said it, just like I don't think HHH should have said what he said either. I was only pointing out that Punk has a storyline centered around him being overshadowed. Seamus does not. He won't get to restore the WHC to its former glory or any of that stuff because just like Vince legit doesn't view Punk over Cena, Vince also doesn't view the WHC over the WWE title.

All I'm going to say is everyone's different. Sheamus probably just brushes it off and continues doing what he does as WHC. Then again, he did take a dig at Punk on twitter.
What if this does play into a future storyline between the two? Either to unify the belts, or once they're both going for the same title? It wouldn't entirely surprise me if they're planting the seeds for the feud. The only question is when does it happen? I mean if it's Rock/Cena for WWE Title, Taker/Lesnar... and Punk/Sheamus for WHC? Wasn't my ideal match for Punk, but I could dig it. Of course Sheamus would be going over, but I've accepted the fact WWE wants him as the next top face and there's not much that can be done about it unless Sheamus royally fucks up.

Just because what he said is the truth doesn't mean he said it maliciously with intent to bury Sheamus or the title, it's all within the context of the show. Of COURSE somebody who bills themselves as "Best In The World" isn't going to admit another champion is on par with him.
This. I didn't have a problem with it anyway, it's the truth. Who's opening PPV's and having an awful, drawn-out feud with Del Rio that's lowering the ratings week after week? Sheamus.

Would you have ''cringed'' though if the roles where reversed and Sheamus as the WWE Champion was talking down to Punk as the World Champion? I doubt it. People are defensive about their favorites, and I know you're a fan of Sheamus so naturally you found that comment worse than someone like me for example who doesn't care for Sheamus at all.
I know you don't hate Punk, but you don't like him either, but there's those like Jammy in this thread who are all over Punk's case, which is not surprising at all considering he feelings about him.
