The loss of Edge to Smackdown is a big blow to the thriving Smackdown brand. Although Smackdown will continue to have good matches and interesting TV. Losing Edge is still a tough blow for Smackdown and the WWE altogether. Especially considering the fact that WWE is very thin when it comes to main event talent. With Taker/Michaels/Batista/ and now Edge all out.

Given Jeff's enormous popularity and the fact that WWE and especially Smackdown is now very low on main event level talent with Edge being gone. Does this pressure WWE into giving Hardy the big contract he's been holding out for/ an offer he can't refuse?

Or does Jeff want a break so badly. That he turns down WWE's best offer?

How do you know that he is getting offered something he can't refuse. That's probably what vince wants him to think anyways. Vince will just be like "cya" after hardy decides to leave and he will be thinking "wtf?" and yeah he will feel bad for not getting a new contract IF that is the case.

If Jeff leaves then WWE is going to do a last minute push for John Morrison to go to main event. As for Edge, WWE is just going to get in another heel to compensate.

If Jeff leaves and it has something to do with Punk on screen don't be surprised to see Matt step in and avenge his brother even after what all he did him(even though he never said he did anything to Jeff).

Before someone says it won't happen, just remember that they have done it in the past with Taker saving Kane and HBK saving HHH even though they weren't on the best of terms the last they were together on TV.

I think Matt was brought to SD as Hardy insurance plain and simple

You and me both as Matt can truly be the brother looking for redemption for/from Jeff and the fans. Plus, like Kane the fans won't allow him to be a heel.

After all before the heel turn he was more over as a face than Rey on Raw, Jericho as a face, Punk by a mile(KOR), Kennedy, MVP, Kane, Christian(now), Finlay, and everyone outside of the elite 8.

It dosnt matter if jeff is popular, fact is he is being selfish and wanting to go down a different road
Dont get me wrong, thats fine and he can do what he wants
But I feel why should wwe pay him a shit load of money?
He has screwed up many times in the past, while he is willing to turn his back on the fans and a company that have stood by him through it all
To me he dosnt deserve it!

Give a chance to a younger talent to steep up eg Morrsion, Matt or hell turn jericho face...

It just sucks that he is out for the remainder of the year. Hopefully he is back for WrestleMania 26. Jeff will most likely capitalize on Edge's injury like the leech he is.
