WWE WrestleMania is the Super Bowl of pro wrestling/sports entertainment, and it's probably every wrestler's goal to be part of the annual spectacular.
Just ask WWE star Mr. Kennedy.
''Everybody always says it's the Super Bowl of wrestling, and it really is,'' Mr. Kennedy said in a recent phone interview. ``It's an event that keeps evolving year after year after year. We keep uping the ante and improving on the year before. I'm sure that this year's WrestleMania, being that is the 25th anniversary
, is going to do just that.''
Currently on injured reserve, Mr. Kennedy, 32, took time from his rehab to promote the on-sale release date for the silver anniversary of WWE's WrestleMania. Tickets, which went on sale Saturday, Nov. 8, are available at TicketMaster outlets and TicketMaster online and by phone.
WWE's WrestleMania 25 is Sunday, April 5 at Reliant Stadium in Houston in the great state of Texas -- home to some of wrestling's biggest names.
''As always, you can expect appearances from celebrities, from wrestlers past,'' Mr. Kennedy said. ``Stone Cold Steve Austin will be at this year's WrestleMania. That's already a given.''
I found this on 1wrestling.com... I bring this up for a few reasons.
1. I read that many people in recent months were thinking that WWE was going to give up on Mr. Kennedy being that he is so injury prone and possibly release him. Between him promoting the sale of WM 25 tickets here, to working the WWE Political convention coverage, to promoting his new film Behind Enemy Lines 2, the guy is really everywhere. He is a promotion machine, which is what Vince loves about John Cena currently. Just like Cena, Kennedy does all this extra work for the WWE and I think that could only put him in the WWE's good graces if anything. But certainly this wouldn't make them think about firing him or not resigning him.
2. There is mention of Steve Austin being at Wrestlemania, which we all assumed being that it was in Texas, but personally I am glad that we now have a credible person in the industry saying it.

I would love Kennedy vs Austin I doubt they would do that though. If Austin wrestles it will more than likely be against Randy Orton or if were really unlucky, John Cena.

Orton > Kennedy > Anyone to face Austin. Legend killer against hometown legend would be better but Kennedy vs Austin would be Kennedy's dream come true and he might not get another chance.

I'd like to see Austin vs. Kennedy also. It would be kinda like Jericho vs. HBK from a few years ago, the person facing their hero and trying to surpass them. I'd also like to see Austin vs. Orton or Austin vs. Edge.

I dont think Stone Cold is going to wrestle. But if he does, it wont be against Mr. Kennedy. It'll be against someone like Orton or Cena; you know, the main eventers.

They're still paying him while he's injured so it makes sense. It doesn't seem like hard work if you're not wrestling. Plus the difference between him and Cena is that I don't think you can draw an event on Kennedy's name alone. He's not at that point yet. Yeah he has a movie, but it's a straight to DVD one.
It may seem like I'm being critical, but honestly I'd like to seem him be pushed to the main-event level sometime in mid to late '09. I'm tired of seeing the main event scene on Smackdown! being dominated by Hardy, HHH, Taker, Edge, it's been like this for a while now and we need new blood.
I don't think Stone Cold is going to wrestle at WrestleMania either. I think it's just going to do his usual thing. Come out, stun someone, drink some beer, and leave.
Back on topic of Kennedy, though, I'm glad to see he's doing a lot of promotion for WWE, but I'm ready to see him back on WWE television.

The guy could be great if he's used correctly.
Ain't that the truth. Pity creative screwed up his chnces of becoming a main eventer, for now anyway. The break away will do him a world of good as he was on a downward spiral creativley before his injury. Hopefully he'll come back fresh, turn heel and get a decent push!
