Let me be clear in saying this isn't a Rollins vs. Jinder comparison thread in regards to skillset or Main Event potential. This is simply pointing out the effectiveness of their respective presentations as heel champions. Now that that's out of the way, lets begin.
If you were here in 2015, you know I was VERY vocal about my disdain for Rollins' title reign. Besides the utilization of 40 minutes of airtime to ultimately accomplish nothing, my biggest gripe with his presentation was the fact that he had two midgets run to his rescue, and STILL lost almost all of his televised matches. They seem to have corrected that with Jinder Mahal. If you've been watching his journey to the title in its entirety, you'd see that the Singh Brothers have assisted him in nearly every matchup, similarly to J & J security, but the difference is Jinder has WON all of his matches. It was counterproductive for Rollins to need all of that help, yet STILL get his ass whooped. Jinder and the squad are booked correctly as top heels, in that in spite of the Singh Brothers getting their asses whooped, Jinder manages to get the upper hand and come out on top. Regardless of how you feel about him being champion, THIS is how a heel that requires assistance should be booked.
Agreed. While I (in hindsight) don't think Rollins reign was all that bad, it didn't make a whole lot of sense for these two dwarfs to be constantly interfering in Rollins matches only for Rollins to lose anyways. It wrecks the credibility of both the champion and the belt he's holding.
Yeah I'm hoping for some character development from these guys too. So far they just appeared and started helping him which is fine for now but if he is going to have a lengthy reign they need a bit of a backstory too. Maybe even compete in the tag team division too.
I agree and I love Seth Rollins but I didn't watch him for his dumb security. I watched him for the **** matches he put on with Randy Orton, Ambrose, Neville and Cena.
Not his useless J & J security.
I actually enjoy watching Jinders Nephews on my screen because they're like bullet sponges for him to distract his opponents with. In fact, the Singh Brothers interference in his six-pack challenge was the thing that originally sold me in the push. His heel booking is very sound.
Hey one day, these might guys actually break out and form their own tag team. Maybe not win the championship but definitely good enough to be a team in the tag team division.
Authors of Pain aren't Indian. One of them I know for sure isn't. Jinder shouldn't be putting anyone in his group who isn't Indian. Khali would be good as a bodyguard/enforcer.
That's true, but I also think it has to do with Jinder's can't afford any losses. It's not like he was already established as an upper midcard or main event, so he could lose the occasional match. Jinder was straight jobber so he can't afford to lose period
I thought the one brother was legit dead when orton threw him on his head. That was one of the worst bumps I've seen.
