Thanks Miz for carrying Smackdown and making the IC title relevant again. What is your reward, you may ask? A shot at the WWE title? Nah. You and your wife get to put over Cena and Nikki Bella at Wrestlemania. Thanks AJ for carrying the SDL main event scene last year. Wanna know what your reward will be? A match with the Undertaker? Nah. A match with Samoa Joe or Nakamura? Nah. You get to wrestle the bosses son and it's not even the one who hits people with sledgehammers.

Re: Hey Miz and AJ, thanks for carrying Smackdown last year!!!!!

Eh, Miz had one really good promo 6 months ago and his wife is hot. Otherwise he still sucks.

Smackdown's success is a weird combination of several people, sure Miz plays a part in it, but it's a culmination of AJ, Cena, Orton, Wyatt, Nikki, Lynch, Bryan, Shane etc. Raw relies too much on like 4 or 5 superstars and everyone else is left out to dry.

Raw relies on Owens, Jericho, Rollins, Reigns, Sasha, Charlotte, Bayley, Braun, Sami, Enzo and Cass, Cesaro and Sheamus, Jack Gallagher, and The New Day. Don't sell them short just because you only look a 4 people

Miz and AJ did not carry anything. Smackdown success was a group effort from everyone on the roster, AJ, Miz,Ambrose,Ziggler,Wyatt,Orton, etc.

Yeah, their Mania matches really don't match the work they've done over the past 12 months, especially since the brand split.

I've no doubt the two will make their programmes as entertaining as possible though.

Re: Hey Miz and AJ, thanks for carrying Smackdown last year!!!!!

First off, there were a multitude of stars who made Smackdown as good as it was last year.

Don't really feel bad for Miz honestly. Not the match I would have went with but mixed tag or not he's still in a match with John Cena.

As for AJ, again, not the match I wanted or would have done. But lets not act like Shane doesn't have star power. AJ's not being saddled with a jobber. I would have had AJ in there with a Cena or Orton but AJ's still getting a good spot on the card. It's just not the spot or opponent we wanted for him.

I'm pretty sure he'd have a better match with a jobber :jericho2 It's just an odd match-up. Another thing is that it's at Mania.
Shane's last two matches were Mania and Survivor Series. He's treated like he's some final boss or something.

Everyday with this crap. Couldn't there just be a let's whine about AJ thread for people to go bitch and moan there.

WWE isn't based on meritocracy it's about what stories they want to tell. They want AJ working with Shane(one of the most protected people ever) so they will do that. The wanted to do the mixed tag so they are going to.

Re: Hey Miz and AJ, thanks for carrying Smackdown last year!!!!!

AJ and Miz didn't carry SmackDown, they carried the entire WWE. Only interesting characters in the last 6 months or so who delivered at a high level in everything they did.

Miz carried SD? :lmao 1 decent promo 6 months ago doesn't equal carrying the brand he's regressed badly since then.
And all his great TV promos around that time, his series of good-great matches with Ziggler, Zayn and Ambrose.

And he hasn't regressed, he's just booked like shit now. Two months into 2017 and he hasn't won a single match or got to cut any solo promos. His importance has been downgraded.

Re: Hey Miz and AJ, thanks for carrying Smackdown last year!!!!!

Styles has been the MVP of the whole WWE the past year, instead of getting a title shot at WM 33 it looks like he's going to fighting Shane Mcmahon while Goldberg/Lesnar will be for the title it looks like.

Re: Hey Miz and AJ, thanks for carrying Smackdown last year!!!!!

I could literally make the same type of thread that says "hey Dean Ambrose, thanks for all your hard work over 2016, sometimes doing two shows a night and carrying the company at some points, here's your Mania match, a IC title match with Baron Corbin that you'll likely lose, making it 3 losses in a row for you!", but people would call me a whiny Ambrose mark.

That's what a thread like this sounds like tbh. Plus, AJ and Miz didn't carry Smackdown. It was a team effort.

Re: Hey Miz and AJ, thanks for carrying Smackdown last year!!!!!

I'm sorry but this thread is whiny as hell.

Both Raw and SD are a team effort. Multiple people have contributed to both brand's. Like someone else said don't be selling people short now. Look at the big picture.

I don't see what's so bad about the Intergender Tag Match. I get that it's not Ideal but shit. I think wrestling alongside your loved one is something that may mean alot to all the parties involved. At least they get that.

Now with AJ as I said I don't like him fighting Shane but shit..It could've been so much worse. Plus despite not being a wrestler Shane is a bit of a draw and it won't be a total waste.

At this point it is what it is. Either you're going to watch it or not.

There is no bigger picture or anything anymore for a lot of folk. It's tunnel vision of your favorites getting what you think they deserve, everybody else can get bent.

Like I get if people wanted AJ doing more, but in this day and age people act like if you're not going to the main event, then it doesn't matter and you're being misused and that's BS.

Re: Hey Miz and AJ, thanks for carrying Smackdown last year!!!!!

I guess Miz, Maryse, Cena and Nikki are happy with their feud. Not sure about Styles though, but he looks like a guy who wouldn't bitch about his WM match on Colt Cabana podcast

Re: Hey Miz and AJ, thanks for carrying Smackdown last year!!!!!

If you don't want him in the ME, fine. But at least give him someone better than Shane McMahon, this is a guy who got over 40% on the WM main event poll and is towards the backend of his career - are you really going to give him Shane fucking McMahon?

Miz should be the IC champion (day 300 or whatever it would have been if Ziggler hadnt won) going into WM and defending the title against Ambrose and Corbin.

I cant wait until Aj and Shane actually have an above average match and everyone on here goes crazy about how talented AJ Styles is.

Unless they do every spot known to man and both bleed like crazy, I'm going to be disappointed. Im certain the match is going to suck. In a PG environment, Shane being in his 50s and having a scare at SS, they don't stand a chance of delivering.

Re: Hey Miz and AJ, thanks for carrying Smackdown last year!!!!!

Although I would rather not see AJ Styles face Shane McMahon; have people considered that Vince having AJ face Shane at Wrestlemania is a signal within the company that Vince trusts and values Styles? The only two Wrestlemania matches that Shane has had were against Vince McMahon himself and the Undertaker. AJ Styles would join that very short list.

Re: Hey Miz and AJ, thanks for carrying Smackdown last year!!!!!

Yes, it sucks Luke Harper may get in the title picture at Mania meanwhile Dean is an afterthought, AJ has to wrestle Shane, and Miz is a prop for Cena-Nikki proposal at Wrestlemania.

Also, Like why do we need Randy to bury Bray
WWE Championship? Anyone?

Re: Hey Miz and AJ, thanks for carrying Smackdown last year!!!!!

Lol all this he deserves it! Who cares if Aj and Miz carried SD last year. So what. How is that relevant? The butthurt is strong in The Indy Fanbase. Hell make it Cena Orton main event. For the true wrestling fans.

They deserve a lot better than what they've been given.

Why is it so difficult to bring up Nakamura for AJ or allow Miz to walk into WM with the IC title?

You could have freed it up and allowed..

Bray v Orton
AJ v Nakamura
Cena v Ambrose
Miz (c) v Harper v Corbin

Which sure as hell beats what we're getting.

First things first, 2 people don't carry an entire show, Miz and Styles have been great (especially AJ.) but don't pretend like Ambrose, Cena, Orton, Wyatt, Corbin and at times ziggler aren't a reason why Smackdown has been so good.

Secondly, Styles vs Shane could be great, AJ's about to get the biggest spotlight on SD, He'll likely get the most tv time while the feuds going on and you know the story will get care and attention because of Shane, same as Shane vs Taker did. The match itself is a little bit more of a worry but you've got 2 men that have proved they're willing to do whatever they can to make a match the best it can be. I'll be happier if they get some sort of no dq stipulation so Shane can thrive as well as AJ. I get that people are gutted because AJ could have had a better opponent, I am too in all honest but I'm going to give it a chance and AJ vs a Nakamura or a Joe can be saved for the future. I'd take AJ vs Nakamura with a great build and a massive spotlight at summerslam then a throwaway feud at mania given about 10 minutes lost in the shuffle in the mid-card somewhere just because.

Whether we agree or not Shane is an attraction and a draw. Many more people will pay to attend WM to see AJ vs Shane than they would AJ vs anyone on the sd roster except Cena.

AJ can tick it off the bucket list and say he's faced Shane at WM, i'm also positive if Shane and Taker can have a decent match AJ can elevate it to the next level. He's had a fantastic year and can't hold the title forever plus there is a real lack of options on the SD roster at this moment in time.

As for The Miz he owes a great deal of gratitude to his wife as she has had a big part to play in the run he's had over the last 6 months, just because me and you don't like it doesn't mean Miz doesn't want to, if anyone has an issue with this i imagine it would be Cena, I always pictured he'd rather drag his balls through broken glass than propose/marry again (which is apparently the plan at WM).
