With as many titles as AJ Styles has held, the classics AJ Styles has had, the longevity AJ Styles has had in the business, my question is if AJ styles wins the WWE Championship, where would you rank AJ Styles among your all time greats?

I know that's kind of a heavy question, considering there have been many great wrestlers out there. So let me ask this question like this let's say if someone asked you to pick the top 50 wrestlers of all time, (not going by favorites) does AJ Styles rank on your list and how high up.

I'm talking about after AJ Styles wins a WWE Championship and has that under his belt.

Does he rank in your all time top 50, or is he not even close.

For me I must say he's most certainly in my top 50 imo. Considering how he's legit won World titles nearly everywhere he's been, has had quality matches his whole career, his ability to work with a variety of wrestlers, being one of the most successful Gaijin to wrestle overseas, I wouldn't say he's broken barriers or that he has appeal outside of the average wrestling fan. Like a Hulk Hogan, The Rock, or a lot of top stars in the 90s as well as a guy like John Cena.

and I may get shit for saying this but imo I think AJ Styles accomplishing what he has already if he gets that WWE Championship, I can honestly say he would sit comfortable around my 30-50s with guys like Ricky Steamboat, Chris Jericho, but that's my opinion.

I think purely from a career standpoint, if he wins the WWE title (even moreso if he wins more than once or has a legit reign), he has to be considered one of the greatest of all time. Just objectively, the fact that he's done so much for so many companies and been on top of so many companies speaks volumes about the guy. He's held like 50 titles in various places, but to be able to say he'll have held the NWA, TNA, ROH (Pure, not world), IWGP, and WWE titles is some serious cred. Add that to the the fact that WWE brought him in intending him to be a midcarder and then within a year he's done as much as he has... it's pretty amazing, honestly.

He is my favorite of all time already. Winning the WWE Championship won't change that. Made the X-Division great with too many classics to count, multiple TNA World Championships, gets low balled so he changes up his gimmick then leaves for NJPW, wins the IWGP Championship in his first match because that is just how big of a deal he is, leader of the best faction since NWO/DX, Styles/Nakamura classic, Biggest pop at the Royal Rumble, has been the MVP in WWE since his feud with Reigns started.

Best of all time.

It's really hard to do lists like this because everyone's criteria tends to be different. But for me personally, he'd be Top 20 of all time easily, maybe Top 15 even. Heck he'd be the only man to ever hold the WWE, TNA, IWGP, AND NWA titles. That's quite the accomplishment right there.

And then there's all of his other accomplishments for multiple promotions. Holding the X-Division title so many times and putting on great matches with the likes of Samoa Joe, Christopher Daniels, and so many others. Being one of the faces of TNA for so long, and being a two-time TNA Grand Slam winner. Being pretty successful in ROH, and holding the Pure Championship, as well. Winning the biggest prize in NJPW in his debut match, plus leading the Bullet Club (one of the most over stables around). Then debuting in WWE and putting on well-done matches with the likes of Jericho, Reigns, and Cena, and so on and so forth.

Yeah he's awesome.

That really depends on the booking, he could be a shitty chickenshit heel champion for all we know and knowing wwe, that probably what they are gonna do, but I really hope Im wrong.

If they book him right and have a strong reign, he could be one of the the greatest. (thats my AJ Styles fanboyism talking)

His won't be as special as it should be because it will be at some meaningless PPV against a face Ambrose.

AJ's first deserves a big build with a Rumble win and Mania moment against a star.

It's one of the feel good moments they have, but I know they don't see AJ highly enough to give him that treatment.

He was already one of the GOAT even before he cam to WWE.
It added nothing IMO. I Stand by my thoughts when he first debuted, if he was going to end up a mid-card jobber many WWE Apologist would have loved to shit on his career, now here we are 7+month later, he's one of the biggest stars in the company, he's done it in many different companies before, why would the WWE be any different. It could have caught of the guy's legs after 2 months of his debut, it's not like WWE doesn't do that.. that wouldn't have made him a GOAT? fuck no because he already was.

He's currently one of the best talent in the biggest wrestling company, and he came in with uncertaintity where he'd be on the social spectrum, yet here he is, booked as a favorite to win the title. Not sure where he ranks, but the guy is an amazing talent. Hope this feud lasts a few months, and we get a double turn. Dean needs to just turn full out heel already.

Just remember that Ric Flair had his best year ever as a performer at age 40. A lot of SHawn Michaels greatest matches happened past age 40. I think Styles has at least few more years of performing at an elite level. I dont think the window is as narrow as people think it is. Only this year has he been working that grueling WWE schedule so he's a very young 39. The WWE schedule hasn't affected him thus far. He's still one of the top talents in all of pro wrestling. Easily in the top 50 RIGHT NOW.

Tbh, I personally rank Styles in my top 5. I have a soft spot for AJ though as he legit brought me into wrestling. Him being in the WWE has been a dream come true, so if he actually wins their world strap, he may shoot up to #1 because the mark out will be too hard.

Next up would be that HOF induction ceremony, with none other with Christopher Daniels inducting him

Aj Styles will go down as one of the most decorated wrestlers of all time. You would have to go back to a guy like flair or dusty to find a guy that has been a top guy in as many different organisations and for the length of aj styles.

The guy was the face of tna and its biggest star ever. He spent a decade there and won every title there was. I think he was something like a 5 time triple crown champ in tna and its most decorated wrestler ever. He,s had classic matches against top guys in organisations such as roh and pwg. We dont even have to get into his amazing career in njpw where he,s one of only what 5 gajiins to win the big one? And he was a legit top guy for almost 2 years.

If he continues on this path and has a great wwe career with a few world titles and high caliber mania and summerslam matches he would def be in my alltime top 50 maybe even higher. And by that I truly mean alltime and not the past 30 years like most people mean. I did an alltime top 100 once and ranked wrestlers from all over the world dating back to the 1930s including guys like lou thesz, buddy rogers, gorgeous george and even guys from an earlier era.

Styles would rank very high in that list. Possibly the greatest wrestler of this era outside of maybe Cena when it comes to being a longterm top guy.

These type of threads a tricky because you have to consider the history of WWE and the wrestling business which goes back years and years. Not many fans on here would be old enough to remember the legends like Bruno Sammartino, Harley Race, Lou Thesz, The Original Sheik, Buddy Rogers, or Killer Kowalski. Then there's guys like Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Andre The Giant, Randy Savage, and Iron Sheik when they were in their prime. There are so many legends of wrestling, that it's really hard to put AJ Styles on that pedestal. Guys who were innovators of their time and paved the way for wrestlers like Styles.

Of course you might mean greatest of all time in the ring, and not particularly overall in wrestling. In which case you would have to compare him to the likes of Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit, Dynamite Kid, Eddie Guerrero, Chris Jericho, Curt Hennig, Owen Hart, and many other great wrestlers of their time. Then there's the legendary Japanese wrestlers which are highly regarded, and some Japanese wrestling fans would have you believe that the best North American wrestlers don't hold a candle to the best Japanese wrestlers.

Hell you'd also have to throw in other wrestlers from the indy scene too like Daniel Bryan, Austin Aries, Samoa Joe, CM Punk, Cesaro, Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn etc. So yeah it's a tough call to make.
