He was horrible in NXT. That "run" he had, just left a bad taste in my mouth about the guy. Nothing to do with his size or look, he was just absolute garbage. Ass-based offense, acting like a spastic, the guy just made a proper clown out of himself there.
He has a horrendously bad gimmick and he can barely wrestle.
He's enthusiastic and he was decent in his last match in NXT against Joe when he was actually aggressive instead of being goofy, but he has few redeeming qualities about him.
Because it's fashionable to hate guys that came through the Performance Center instead of 'paying their dues' working in high school gyms for $10 a night.
He is a dude-bro which I can see people hating as a gimmick but the heat he gets about his "lack of talent" is disproportionate to similarly talented people.
You can tell very many people haven't watched him recently if they're still mentioning the ass based offense he used to have 2 years ago. I'm okay with people saying they refuse to give him a chance because of his gimmick but those people shouldn't be commenting on his talent level.
You can tell the people making idiotic responses like "cause he never wrestled in Japan/the indies" have never seen a single minute of Mojo Rawley. Dude is arguably the worst talent on the entire roster.
It's a horrible excuse. There are plenty of people who had little indy background who are loved by many fans. American Alpha (Sure, they both had wrestling backgrounds, but they weren't big names), Bayley, Sasha (Indy backgrounds, yes, but not big names), Wyatt, Big E... List goes on.
Andrade Almas was very popular before coming to WWE as La Sombra but no-one gives a damn about him right now. The 'only liked because they're from the indies' reason is just terrible, as there are so many exceptions to the rule on both sides. Rawley certainly isn't hated because he's not an 'indy darling' it's because he's just... bad.
Because he's Jar Jar Binks personified - a brightly dressed, loud, obnoxious man child. He's pretty much everything the fans don't want.
Mojo needs to be what he was in that match against Samoa Joe a few weeks back, no bullshit, just a fearless big guy up for the fight. That defiant scream in Joe's face is the single greatest thing Mojo has ever done, more of that and he might just stand a chance.
