The Miz is the most underrated talent in the history of the WWE.

Yes, really.

This guy is ridiculously underrated. No one come close to this guy on the mic. And yeah, he's far better than Paul Heyman. His wrestling ability is great too.

Yeah he's the IC champion right now, but that isn't fair. His talent deserves better than the IC title. In my opinion, If AJ won the title from Ambrose, The Miz should be the next contender AND should win it at Survivor Series.

The Miz deserves better.

And why you didnt create this thread before Talking Smack? You were also underrating him?

Back in 2009 I thought Miz will eventually become next Cena.

And I was right. WWE was wrong.

Miz is better than anyone who wwe tried to push in last 5 years.

Still one of my fav promos of all time. So good

But yeah i've been saying for a little while that he truly is an underrated talent, mostly because I feel a lot of people find it hard to get past his 2006-2010 Real world/chick magnet time period where he was just legit annoying. I do feel he's grown quite a bit, especially since his demotion after the world title run and he's easily one of the most consistent and reliable guys the company have. He's not an amazing worker but he can hold his own and whenever he seems to have a great match a lot of the praise his opponent for it ahead of him. He's not a technical magician and frankly he truly is the definition of the WWE style (guess they can't all be indy darlings) but he is good at what he does and he pretty much made his character work for him beautifully.

I wouldn't go as far as sayigng he's the most underrated in history but he certainly is an underrated talent that much is for sure.

One heated promo on a show where it's basically encouraged to blur the lines of reality and kayfabe and suddenly The Miz is the greatest talent they have.

Yes it was a great promo. Yes he's a good talker. Yes he's a serviceable worker. Above average. But let's not get carried away here. I'm not saying he won't get another crack at the World Title either. He's basically a comedy interview guy right now. Sure he could be given a more serious role but so could everyone else. He's exactly where he should be.

My sentiments exactly.

I loved the promo, and thought it was one of the best of its kind I've seen. But Miz has never been bad on the mic--most have rated him highly in that area. He's also never been particularly bad in the ring--most have rated him at least above average and competent in that area. He's a multiple-time champ. So I'm not seeing how Miz is suddenly so dramatically underrated, but I'm also not surprised that there are such hysterics on this forum trying to claim as much after Talking Smack (as if anyone was talking about how 'grossly underrated' he was before that).

He is an incredible talent. Good looking yet cocky, oozes charisma and plays a heel to a T because he knows how to touch a nerve.

Yet off-camera/out of the ring, he really comes across as a very affable, grounded all around nice guy.

WWE are a shame to waste such a top tier talent.

Better on the mic than Heyman and great in the ring? :ha

Yeah, no. You guys are jumping on the bandwagon because of his promo last night and his recent success over the past few months. That doesn't erase the years of awful. Some of us who aren't blinded still remember the days of Miz interviewing Michael Strahan...

Mike Mizzanin is such an over looked talent. His work in the ring is crisp, snappy and charismatic. His mic work is very underrated though, I've always loved his engaging style. This promo has transferred the naysayers into Miz fans as he's showcased his full potential and passion. I hope that one day he gets another run with the championship belt. If we saw Dolph vs Miz every week, take my money WWE.

You know the whole situation is a bit funny to me with the recent Bryan-Miz confrontation. Bryan is said to be the poster child of superstars who are said to have overcome terrible booking to achieve success, which is true to an extent but the guy who epitomised that much more IMO and someone who is somehow never acknowledged for it was just sitting beside him, that's The Miz. Bryan achieved more success in his 5 year WWE career than The Miz has in 10 while facing the same amount of, if not less bad booking. The Miz has had his entire career derailed on multiple occasions only to come back stronger each time.

The Miz's career was for all intensive purposes over, when he was emasculated the way he was by Stephanie McMahon in 2013. Being called a B+ player is one thing, it's a completely different thing to label someone as a failure at life and basically a bitch boy for the Authority to solely fill in their media assignments in an implied thankless and respectless job. It's a testament to just how great The Miz is to keep coming back year after year delivering incredible performances week after week, hell the guy took a gimmick which was basically supposed to be a comedy jobber gimmick of a wannabe Hollywood A Lister and not only made it work but also played an instrumental role in helping Sandow become one of the most over acts in the company.

The guy is a sure shot locked Top 3 performer with regards to character role play and mic skills; two skills I believe are absolutely paramount in the world of WWE sports entertainment. He has been on fire ever since his feud with Styles. Hoping to see him back in the main event scene on day.

The Miz is one of the most underrated talent in the roster because he can do it all on the mic, especially as a heel.

I mean, he created a real character after he became big, could've stayed that way but he totally changed. I'm not talking a character like " Oh, I'm gonna be a jerk and say mean things ". No, a real character with new catchphrases, new look, new way of talking, new everything and he is good at it. He is not the best wrestler but he can work the crowd, he can get ANYBODY over as a face if you let him do it and Talking Smack was another exemple of that, alone, he made the wrestling world think that what he was saying was real. Only 3 minutes were enough for him to show that he is ahead of everyone else on the mic.

His only problem is that he isn't a " wrestling guy " and since day one, he has been fighting against it, trying to show that he just as legitimate as the other wrestlers...

I'm not saying he is the greatest of all-time or Five Star Worker but man, he deserves so much more than just being ignored for most of the time when he is a very solid guy that the company can always use to put somebody over.

Lastest promo or not, I've always been a fan of his since his days as 'The Chick Magnet'. He's always had that 'something' you know?

So no, I'm not one of those who has just crawled out of the woodwork, it's an ungentlemanly thing to do.

Good talker, average worker. Most underrated? That's a discussion that would have to include Owen Hart, Perfect, Scott Hall, Jake Roberts, Dibiase and the like. Guys who didn't get to walk in and out of Wrestlemania as champion, guys who became legends with nowhere near the TV time Miz has had, guys who could talk and wrestle as well as anyone else on the card, guys who delivered moments and memories like last night, on a regular basis.

Make no mistake, that was a truly great segment last night, from Bryan, Renee, Maryse and I dare say a career best performance for The Miz, but it's all relative to the time and the circumstances under which it was delivered. It stood out to me because it reminded me of years gone by, it reminded me of what great promos could achieve and how they could make you feel, but it does not put Miz on some kind of a historical pedestal, it does not make him '....... In The History' of anything. It means he cut a great promo, at a time when great promos are scarce. It was a captivating couple of minutes that further proves, that pro-wrestling as we knew it, is still alive.

Most under rated in history i'm not sure about, but the Miz is easily the most effective pure heel on the roster right now, he's a genius on the mic, and his ring skills, while not top notch, are good enough to back up his talking ability.

Again, definitely one of the most effective characters they have.
