I think that pic is from when he had the pec surgery in 2010.

If the shoulder surgery really is true then yeah maybe he should consider retirement or working a lighter schedule. It doesn't matter when he returns or what injury he comes back from he never phones it in and always comes back like nothing happens or looks even better in the ring. But it's clear that all the TLC matches and everything is finally starting to take a toll, which sucks. He's one of the best in ring performers.

Funny, he went from the guy who never had ANY injuries to being sidelined 3 times in 2 years. Hope he gets better soon and can stay healthy from now until whenever he decides to retire.

Sort of. Though I think it's a little more accurate to say that in the last couple of years, his entire career has finally started to catch up with him.

Not sure I'm totally convinced about this. There were reports before that they were keeping up of TV for his up coming TNA apperance or something (which is strange because he wasn't off TV when he made his last appearance, he was actually the IC Champion at the time). However he has been injury-prone in the last few years and maybe all those years of wrestling and TLC matches especially have really taken their toll on his body in recent years, I mean, look what those matches did to Edge for example.

By the way, congrats on becoming a moderator Deso. I can't think of a more deserving guy.

Eh, I don't know that he's become injury-prone. The pec was only his second injury in the first 12 years of his WWE/TNA career, and the ankle was a freak thing that could happen to anybody and didn't seem to affect his performance at all upon his return. Assuming the shoulder isn't a kayfabe explanation for his absence, it's probably what Desolation Row said: something he could have worked through but something he took the opportunity to have cleaned out since he was going to be off TV for a couple months anyway.

When he returns after TNA (reportedly in October), Christian should work a lighter schedule. I think that Christian's time in the main events and being one of the focuses of a show is over. Right now, there are numerous faces and heels that need a main event spot over Christian and there isn't a lot of great reasons to book him at the top of the card. He doesn't need to work both Raw and Smackdown each week and all of the house shows. He could easily transition into a manager/wrestler role or wrestle exclusively on one of WWE's lesser shows (Smackdown, NXT, or WWE Main Event depending on how often he wants to work) at the US/IC title level. He's a big enough name that WWE will still get a return on their investment and Christian will make his opponent look like a million bucks. It also prevents the issue of creative not knowing what to do with him due to overexposure or rushing into storylines (something that historically has impacted his booking).

I agree I am still not convinced about it. Just because a dirt sheet reports he had surgery doesn't mean it's true. Everytime a superstar gets injured or has surgery WWE reports it. That has been the case with everyone - Rey, Barrett, Cena, etc. Guess only Christian knows the real reason he's not on TV. Whatever it is hopefully he returns soon.

You're probably right about the first part, sadly, but I disagree on the second. The only other faces you can book in WWE/World title matches are Cena, Sheamus, Orton, and Rey. Kane and Bryan are currently a comedy tag team. Rey is primarily Sin Cara's partner and at about the same level as Christian. I don't see why Christian can't be an occasional challenger to a heel champion.
