WWE has dropped the ball with Christian numerous times and ever since his return in 2009, he hasn't been a priority. I still don't know why WWE would go through all of the effort getting him back from TNA to have absolutely no long term plans for him (they've even kept him off cards that they advertised him for due to plans changing.) Even when he was the WHC, WWE tried to get rid of him as the champion as fast as possible and didn't even bother maintaining his momentum.
Christian is the one wrestler on roster that needs a repackage and a new focus. There isn't anything stopping them from doing something completely unexpected and different with Christian since there isn't any expectations on him for his return. Who knows, it might work and they'll get a return on their investment. It's more likely to work than a lot of the other repackaging experiments they have done recently. But knowing WWE, he'll be the same Christian character that is meant to be forgotten about by design and they'll just waste his talents.
