Re: Who should have run over Austin?

Rikishi was the right choice, his face act was getting stale and he needed a heel turn to freshen his character up. The first couple of weeks he was getting strong heat, the problem was Austin...

Re: Who was the better heel - Eric Bischoff NWO or Mr. Mcmahon

Vince acted more like a pure heel, Bischoff sometimes greeted the fans and shook their hands when coming down to the ring (NWO fans, but still).

Re: Stone Cold Made the Attitude Era, Not DX

In '97 channels started having TV ratings for programs so the stuff that DX was doing went beyond the PG rating. The 12/22/97 issue of WON goes in full detail about it.

Re: Stone Cold Made the Attitude Era, Not DX

It's well known that DX didn't create the AE but the PTC didn't start targeting Raw until after DX was formed. DX were more controversial than Austin was.

Re: How come no one criticizes Steve Austin's backstage politics?

He did get criticized about it back in the day. The reason he doesn't get criticized as much nowadays because he wasn't on top that long to remember his antics. I remember a lot of people complaining...

Re: If there was no HHH, Rock and Austin wouldn't have been super over?

Triple H was a midcarder in DX when they headlined WM XV. Triple H's early title reigns were so successful they had to reform DX to get fans to take him seriously as a main eventer.

Re: what do you consider the ending point of the Golden Age?

I think OP meant Golden era.

Anyways when Bret won the WWE Title. That was clearly the changing of the guard and other than Hogan's small time w/ it every champion since Bret for the next 5 years...

Re: Why did The Rock change his character?

Because the product had changed, the WWF product in late 2000-2001, while still was kind've in the AE mode, was different compared to 1998-99. Austin was the only one that didn't change throughout...

Re: King Kong Bundy: Bret Hart and Shawn Micheals as champions led to the downfall

I'm pretty sure the downfall started immediately after WMVIII when both were still in the midcard.

Re: Did Vince suck up to Shawn Michaels too much

All of the top faces before 1997 were pushed like that, the only time the top faces weren't "nice guys" was during the Attitude era.

Re: Did Hollywood Hogan ever win clean as a heel?

Apparently Hogan was upset that Sting showed up out of shape and used his creative control to get the finish changed. Sting eventually got back into shape for the rematch at Superbrawl because he was...

Re: Was WCW Part of The Attitude Era?

The Austin/Shamrock match happened on the September 14 Raw where you stated that Goldberg beat Austin that night. Austin's match outdrew Goldberg's, the ratings for that Nitro peaked during Flair's...

Re: Was WCW Part of The Attitude Era?

The angle became the selling point of Nitro in June.

You said Austin never beat Goldberg in the ratings in the year, which is exactly why you constantly get targeted.

Re: Was WCW Part of The Attitude Era?

Late May-early July=1 month. "Late May" would be politically corrct but the angle officially became the selling point of Nitro in June. Trolling is you saying "Austin wasn't a draw", how many people...

Re: Was WCW Part of The Attitude Era?

I'm supposed to take someone who said "Austin failed to draw in 1998" seriously?

If you think late May-early July= 2 months then not only are you a troll but you're terrible at math too, the time...

Re: Was WCW Part of The Attitude Era?

WCW business didn't boom right away, business started picking up towards the end of '96 when the NWO began adding more members and really got going in '97. Nitro was already beating Raw in the...

Re: Was WCW Part of The Attitude Era?

Your posts seem to rarely, if ever make sense.

1. The NWO storyline started before July '96, it began the month prior.

2. WCW during the NWO era and the Attitude era had very little...

Re: If Austin Never Turned Heel In 2001...

Yeah that's a good point, 6 months Goldberg is WCW Champion and only is the main attraction for 1 PPV?!? And people wonder how WWF began beating them so badly just 2 months later.
