Re: Raw discussion thread 1/9/12

You people with your "dur, the Attitude Era is teh greatest!" attitude sucks.

The Funkasaurus and Jeritroll ruled it and the ending segment was all kinds of hilarious.

Wrestling isn't supposed...

Re: What in the blue hell are they doing with Jericho?

If they keep having Jericho troll the audiences like he does the IWC, I'll be a happy man. Between him and Funkasaurus, I may start watching again on a regular basis.

Re: Brodus Clay Discussion Thread

You people take wrestling far too seriously. If you can't dig a big smiley guy who comes out to funk with hot chicks and dances around while squashing people, there's no use for you and you need to...

Re: Better decade 80's or 90's? Which was better?

I don't think this poll is very fair as most of the people who post here probably haven't seen more than maybe 10 matches from the 80s.

People need to buy those Goodhelmet 80s Project sets. If...

Re: Official DVD/Match/Show Discussion Thread

Chris Benoit vs. William Regal from No Mercy 2006 should be a contender for most brutal. It's 11 minutes to these two just throwing stiff as hell strikes and Benoit doing a full nelson suplex which...

Re: A New Era in Professional Wrestling???

Not to be overly critical but there were more than 2 golden ages. Pro-wrestling goes as far back as the late nineteenth century. But if you want to talk about the television era, you have to start...

Re: Will Mistico be "toned down" to avoid exposing Mysterio?

I agree with that. Mistico was never my favorite luchadore. Then again, the same problems people have with some of Mistico's work is the same problems I had with Mysterio's work in the 90s. Sure...

Re: Will Mistico be "toned down" to avoid exposing Mysterio?

As someone who watches a lot of lucha, I take exception to that. There are plenty of stories being told in lucha matches. I hear that a lot from people who have only seen a handful of lucha, mostly...

Re: Will Mistico be "toned down" to avoid exposing Mysterio?

I'm probably in the minority but I think Mysterio has been the best worker in WWE for the last few years. I haven't seen him have a bad match for at least 2 years. He can still bump with the best...

Re: Shawn Michaels vs Bret Hart

Bret Hart had better Iron Man matches with Owen and Ric Flair.

Their November 1992 match was superior in my opinion.

Better hour long matches:
Misawa/Kobashi vs. Holy Demon Army 10/95
Bob...

Re: Official DVD/Match/Show Discussion Thread

I love the No DQ match more.

Speaking of reviews:
Barry Windham vs. Dick Murdoch [UWF 7/11/87]
I love this match more every time I watch it. I miss the atmosphere of old school Southern arenas....

Re: Arn Anderson considered a lock for HOF 2011

But he was huge in the Houston promotions back in the 80s as well as in Louisiana and the rest of the south. He sold out arenas all over the south before going to the WWF.

Re: Official DVD/Match/Show Discussion Thread

La Parka/Psicosis/Villano IV vs. Juventud Guerrera/Hector Garza/Lizmark Jr. [WCW 7/13/97]
Now we're talking. One of the pinnacle WCW lucha matches. For a 12 minute match, they got quite a bit in...

Re: Official DVD/Match/Show Discussion Thread

Juventud Guerrera/Psicosis/Blitzkrieg vs. Super Calo/El Dandy/Hector Garza [WCW 2/15/99]
This was just bad. The Cruiserweight division by this time had lost any kind of spark and the luchadore...

Re: Official DVD/Match/Show Discussion Thread

Junkyard Dog/Mr. Wrestling II vs. Ted DiBiase/Matt Borne [Mid-South 2/16/1983]
Great studio match and JYD is insanely over! Borne doesn't play much of a role but DiBiase was selling his ass off for...

Wrestlers that changed my opinion on them

I've been really getting deep into watching and reading about the territory system in the 80s and all of those promotions this past year. There were wrestlers who were big in certain territories...

Re: bigger mexican icon- rey or eddie

El Santo, El Hijo del Santo and Negro Casas were bigger names in Mexico than Eddie or Rey.
