Re: Was WCW Part of The Attitude Era?

Late May-early July=/=2 months, not even a month and a half, that's a month!

That's the problem w/people like you, you bring your fanboyism on here and ruin threads w/stupid shit. I'm not an...

Re: Was WCW Part of The Attitude Era?

I'm supposed to take someone who said "Austin failed to draw in 1998" seriously?

If you think late May-early July= 2 months then not only are you a troll but you're terrible at math too, the time...

Re: Was WCW Part of The Attitude Era?

WCW business didn't boom right away, business started picking up towards the end of '96 when the NWO began adding more members and really got going in '97. Nitro was already beating Raw in the...

Re: Was WCW Part of The Attitude Era?

Your posts seem to rarely, if ever make sense.

1. The NWO storyline started before July '96, it began the month prior.

2. WCW during the NWO era and the Attitude era had very little...

Re: If Austin Never Turned Heel In 2001...

Yeah that's a good point, 6 months Goldberg is WCW Champion and only is the main attraction for 1 PPV?!? And people wonder how WWF began beating them so badly just 2 months later.

Re: If Austin Never Turned Heel In 2001...

If Nash-Goldberg was hyped better it would've drawn better, that's what I'm saying. Drawing a 1.15 with weak buildup? Imagine if it was done right, it could've matched the buyrate BATB did that year.

Re: If Austin Never Turned Heel In 2001...

From August-November Austin appeared at 3 house shows total (all 3 were in October after No Mercy). Tickets in 1999 were only sold months in advance for Raw/Smackdown/PPV and there is no card...

Re: Meltzer: "Goldberg Never Got His Due For Being As Big of a Star As He Was"

This is true, Sting's peak was simply him sitting up in the rafters and not wrestling a single match for the entire year :lol. Goldberg only being on top for 6 months is outrageous.

Re: Meltzer: "Goldberg Never Got His Due For Being As Big of a Star As He Was"

Sting's popularity in '97 was built off the NWO in its prime, Goldberg's came when the NWO had lost steam so he didn't have any memorable storylines they just remember the winning streak.

As a...

Re: Meltzer: "Goldberg Never Got His Due For Being As Big of a Star As He Was"

They did try to freshen the NWO up a bit in '98 with a face version and a heel version. The problem was that it completely ruined the concept of the NWO where it went from being against WCW to...

Re: Meltzer: "Goldberg Never Got His Due For Being As Big of a Star As He Was"

Didn't really help Goldberg that he was dropped down to mid-card after Hogan got the belt again, wasn't around because of an injury the mid part of the year, and did nothing memorable at all when he...

Re: If Austin Never Turned Heel In 2001...

I don't remember Triple H missing much time in the AE, he had a knee injury in '98 where he was gone for a few months and had to give up the IC Title but during his run as a main eventer he was...

Re: If Austin Never Turned Heel In 2001...

I think eventually, but in '98 Austin and Undertaker had to be the leading generals since they were the only established stars after Shawn Michaels was out of the picture.

I feel Undertaker...

Re: Meltzer: "Goldberg Never Got His Due For Being As Big of a Star As He Was"

Hogan and Nash are responsible for ruining Goldberg's career in WCW, the moment Goldberg dropped the belt he was almost immediately bumped down to mid-card. How does he have a meaningless match at...

Re: If Austin Never Turned Heel In 2001...

Actually for half of '99 Austin wasn't on the road (was inactive for 2 months after the Buried Alive Match in December '98 and worked only 3 house shows for the rest of '99 after the First Blood...

Re: If Austin Never Turned Heel In 2001...

Yeah them working together had already been done and it was successful the first time because it was a great swerve. Plus Austin vs. Vince McMahon in 2001? Would've been out of place considering the...

Re: If Austin Never Turned Heel In 2001...

That feud was already done in '97 and again in late '98-early '99 (w/ Vince invovled) with the former heel and the latter face, seeing it again in 2001 wouldn't have made any kind of sense.

Re: If Austin Never Turned Heel In 2001...

He supposed to turn heel and pair up with Vince in 2000 before they had to rewrite everything when he needed neck surgery, so the heel turn was planned as far back as '99 after Vince vs. Stone Cold...

Re: Vince McMahon Winning the 1999 Royal Rumble

The only logical booking decision was Vince winning, it advanced the Austin-McMahon storyline and Austin ended up in the WM main event anyways.
