Re: Your Unpopular Opinions?

Four/five star matches are overrated.

Re: Unpopular opinions 2015 edition.

Cena is the Bruno Sammartino of the 2000s as far as I'm concerned.

Re: In which territory would each of today's wrestlers fit most naturally?

Flair looked small though even if he was legit 6 feet.

Off topic, Flair was a 300 pounder when he started in the 70s. Does anyone know whether that was his natural weight, or was he ridiculously...

Re: I'm about to heel turn on this sub-forum

I was expecting a lot of satire replies like "WWE will botch the OP's heel turn".

On topic, I've already said that I'm more of a sports-entertainment fan tan wrestling so I don't care for what is...

Re: Your Unpopular Opinions?

People need to grow up regarding Vince saying "maybe it's because he's Swiss". I feel stupid having to explain this, but he was explaining that Cesaro was not connecting with the crowd and was just...

Re: In which territory would each of today's wrestlers fit most naturally?

You're right, Bray Wyatt would be more of a Florida person. Or maybe the Texas territory that the Funk brothers ran.

Maybe Cesaro would be better in Georgia Championship Wrestling, taking after...

Re: Shit on your favorite wrestler thread

I enjoyed Ahmed's push in 1996. Though yes I couldn't understand a word of what he was saying either.

Re: In which territory would each of today's wrestlers fit most naturally?

I agree to an extent but he'd have probably been too AWA-like for Vince and only had a short title reign as a transitional champion like Billy Graham.

Re: How long should Seth Rollins be champion? How would you end it?

Wow, I'm a conformist. I think a title change in fall is the time to keep business ticking when they struggle in the ratings.

What I would do is have a crowd favourite like Daniel Bryan win it in...

Re: Shit on your favorite wrestler thread

Great thread concept.

Bret Hart, my hero, was the most unspectacular wrestler with a limited move set I have ever seen. He says Flair has the same match every night but if I'm not mistaken Bret's...

Re: In which territory would each of today's wrestlers fit most naturally?

Bingo. Basically the southern territories where crowds were really rowdy thinking everything was real, security was unreliable, and wrestlers were in physical danger would have had great business...

In which territory would each of today's wrestlers fit most naturally?

Obviously it's very subjective and of little significance but it may be fun to think about if you know a bit about the old territories and what kind of personalities thrived in them.

AWA...

Re: Replace MITB with King of the Ring

As an older fan I would love it, but as a businessman who has heard Bruce Mitchell (a wrestling analyst) talk about this - the problem is that you can't market matches in the month leading up to the...

Re: King Kong Bundy: Bret Hart and Shawn Micheals as champions led to the downfall

So in summary:

- At 37 years old he still considered himself a kid
- Bret Hart looked like a kid, and his ego was out of control
- Vince doesn't need to pay anyone
- 1-2-3 Kid never sold a...

Jake Roberts' unbringing

Most of this time I thought Jake's awful state was the result of bad choices in life when things were better. Nothing could be further from the truth. You must listen to his interview on the Piper's...

Re: Will Rick Derringer Ever Be Inducted into the WWF HOF?

Interesting. It would be worth a shot for the celebrity wing but I guess he doesn't have enough of a mainstream following to draw an audience the way the other non-wrestling people do.

Re: Do wrestlers' announced weights ever change?!

Some of them seemed suspiciously stable. Did Bret Hart really weight 234 pounds his whole WWF singles career?

I found it weird at KOTR 1993 when Fink said Hogan weight 275 pounds.

Re: WrestleMania III and VI ring carts

The WM 6 ones were so slow it got a bit annoying. But yes when I was younger I thought they were a fun prop.

It's one of those things that in a parallel universe would be a fixture at Wrestlemania...
