Re: If The Rock hadn't left in 2001, the WWF still would have been popular?

Rock could've made WWF popular a little bit longer, that was about it.

The industry as a whole was declining, no one person would've made much difference. By 2001/2002 Attitude Era ran its course...

Re: Beginning of a Boom ?

Lol no.

Boom won't happen unless WWE finds ways to connect general audience with cultural relevance and wrestling.

Which may never even happen again.

Re: Is Wrestling industry as a whole on the decline?

Another thing I will add is that wrestling has been overexposed and it doesn't really feel fresh or new anymore. People know everything about how backstage and booking works, and also all kinds of...

Re: Is Wrestling industry as a whole on the decline?

Wrestling IS on decline since 2001.

There's really no argument about that.

Seriously, just think about it. Who the hell wants to watch 3 hours Raw when you can watch so many movies and TV...

Re: Is Wrestling industry as a whole on the decline?

I really think our current cultures are to blame for it.

Both 80s and late 90s boom worked because WWE followed specific cultural trends and mixed them well with wrestling, including
-80s macho,...

Re: A new Wrestling Boom will never happen from simply pushing Wrestler XYZ

Wrestling boom ain't happening unless WWE comes up with new stuff that we haven't seen before.

With good booking and good wrestlers, it might become decently popular but that's about it.

Re: Is The Miz hall of Fame worthy?

Better question is, "Which wrestlers are not Hall of Fame worthy?"

Re: Is the WWE Hall of Fame now meaningless?

When you say Hall of Fame, it should truly be best of the best athletes and stars.

But WWE HOF clealy is not like that.

WWE Hall of Fame is mostly a joke.

So yeah I would say it's pretty...

Re: Will WWE Ever Reach Attitude Era Heights Again?

Unless WWE comes up with something completely new and fresh and able to connect with fans, wrestling boom aint happening.

Re: Why does Vince want WWE to be "mainstream"?

More mainstream means more money.

Doubt WWE will ever be as mainstream as Attitude Era

Re: WWE is slowly losing its American audience

People don't watch that much TV anymore.

How many of you here actually watch Raw on TV? come on....

Most people nowadays just watch it through internet.

Re: If social media was around 15 years ago...

15 years ago social media was nowhere as big as now.

We had slow dialups and it used to take long time to download or watch videos online.

So back in Attitude Era it was definitely easier to...

Are our current cultures to blame for WWE being so bad?

If you look back at 80s and late 90s wrestling boom, WWE always had the right cultures to follow and mixed them with WWE.

80s = cartoon-like gimmicks and characters, muscular and macho wrestlers,...

Could Attitude Era have lasted longer?

Do you think Attitude Era have been lasted longer than it is?

For example, if WWE kept its product like Russo-style and if Rock and Stone Cold didn't leave WWE in 2002...would it have lasted...

Re: monkey vs brock lesnar

Orangutan is probably even stronger than chimpanzee, so no.

Apes are just too strong for human really. Maybe neanderthals can beat chimpanzee.

Re: monkey vs brock lesnar

Do you know how strong chimps are?

Any healthy chimpanzees will destroy any human to pieces, easily.

Re: monkey vs brock lesnar

Chimpanzee and gorilla are not monkeys.

Lesnar can probably beat monkey (really depends on what kind of monkeys), but no one stands any chance against healthy chimpanzees and gorillas.
