Default The Punk/Heyman Battleground build

At least tonight, I think it would have been better to not have Punk open the show and wrestle that match. That's basically giving the fans instant gratification. It would have been better to tease his entrance in the Axel match like they did, and then have the Ryback/Heyman segment with the Punk run in. It would have created a bigger pop and perhaps more ratings since we don't know for sure if Punk will show up or not. Basically a given from the opening segment. I feel like the WWE doesn't know how to effectively increase casual viewer interest anymore.

Yup, not gonna lie, Punk kinda ruined the whole Heyman+Ryback segment on Raw.

For weeks, Punk kept talking about how he wants to fight, but kept getting his ass kicked. A win against Langston certainly helps far more than it hurts. Not to mention it was Langston's best match since he joined the main roster.

Because he kind of fought like Mark Henry? Well...I can't say it bad cause it should be how all big man fight, showing their power.

And I agree with you, a win for Punk helps.

I was bored during the opening promo. Langston's attack was awkward as fuck. The match however, was pretty great.

Punk's music to distract Axel was great and CM Punk laying the beatdown was awesome.

However, Punk's selling his self-inflicted injury left a lot to be desired. What a stupid way to get hurt for a wrestler ... It's hard to buy stuff like that when you've been watching as long as one has.

Overall, the feud lacks emotional investment. It's one of those feuds which is starting to prove that fans ought to be shown feuds between wrestlers, and not wrester vs manager of a stable of wrestlers. People are still invested in the Punk / Lesnar matchup but WWE is being forced to convert this into a Punk/Heyman storyline - and it's just not coming together.

I mean, Punk and Heyman have been great as individual talents (great mic work, great wrestling) ---- It's the feud itself that has just become too drawn out. This was one feud that should've had a shorter shelf-life than it seems to be given and I'm just waiting for it to be over to find out if Punk's career is gonna move towards main-eventing wrestlemania or not. At this point, I'm more invested in his shot at wrestlemania's main event than his feud with Heyman.

Can we just get this crap over with and have Punk back in the WWE title picture again?

Only if it's the WHC. Dude has been involved with the WWE title enough already.

It was a pleasant surprise to see Punk open the show, the match was not bad, like always he got the best out of his opponent in Langston.

The match got better as it went longer and the win definitely helps Punk more then it hurts, the guys hardly won all year really.

The Axel distraction was brilliant, nice mind games and Punk came out on top.

The interrupting of Heyman/Ryback segment was weird and unusual, but he ended up on top and I can't help but get excited at the fact Punk may very well end this feud earlier then I thought and end it on Sunday.

Sorry.

According to F4WOnline.com, CM Punk is still scheduled to be re-inserted into the WWE Title picture once he wraps up his current feud with Paul Heyman/Ryback.
