What happened to the bona fide jobbers?

Now the closest thing we've got today is 3MB or Sin Cara, and even they're allowed to get some offense in and surprisingly enough, win from time to time.

Let's look back at the formula of the traditional jobber: Have a goofy and/or unattractive look, milquetoast ring name, and forgettable ring attire.

Make them innocuous and seemingly innocent to the point of where you'd much rather see them get the crap beat out of them just for stepping into the ring with the big boys.

They used to bring in these unknown guys who got rather known for being squashed. Even the casual fans knew it was over when they were in the ring.

A few for reference (Win/Loss):

Bill Payne - 0/18
Bill Weaver - 0/8
Brian Walsh - 0/23
Butch Long - 0/7
Frank Stalletto - 0/9
Jerry Monti - 0/18
Jim Gorman - 0/16
Kevin Krueger - 0/31
Lou Marcono - 0/9
Mark Ming - 0/23
Nick Barbarry - 0/26
Paul McDale - 0/11
Rod Bell - 0/9
Roy Raymond - 0/25
Russ Greenberg - 0/31
Sean Dakota - 0/6
Tim McNeany - 0/31
Tony Roy - 0/36

Re: What happened to the bona fide jobbers?

I don't remember 3MB winning any matches lately, but why does it need to be total domination, everyone complains when there's complete squashes, and now when we it's not people complain again.

Thank You Punk

Jobbers are a part of history. I'm not complaining, I'm just wondering if they completely did away with straight jobbers. Are they just trying to use superstars exclusively now? I can understand not wanting to completely job out a superstar on your roster week in and week out. I think they try to make them look at least somewhat legit

They should bring back Barry Stevens and Stan Stansky, for real. They could hire that Skidmarks guy from Tough Enough too.

If Chris Jericho didn't go to semi-retirement,this thread would have had a definite answer

Re: What happened to the bona fide jobbers?

James Curtis from ECW (WWE) is the last "true" jobber that comes to mind. He showed up sporadically, lost every time and didn't even have a profile online despite being signed to the WWE. Other than him, the closest guys that come to being "true" jobbers is the 3MB.

Re: What happened to the bona fide jobbers?

They brought some in when Ryback first debuted, the closest thing we have on the main roster is 3MB.
