Not even so long ago the "Divas Champ" wasn't even ON Raw more often than not. Layla's titlereign was pretty much only existent in name. THIS, an actual promo on MNR with a McMahon, is a GIANT rub in comparison. Yes she spoke down to AJ, but she's the friggin' boss's daughter, ofcourse she did. The fact that AJ made back to back jokes about her, in her face I might add, at her expense is nothing but positive in the grand scheme of things.
I'm assuming you meant Cameron and Naomi? I didn't see a Bella anywhere...
And yeah, I don't think Kaitlyn, AJ or even Nattie are that tall. TBH I don't really care that much about how tall they are either way. AJ sells her matches just fine despite of her size.. *shrug*
I fully agree with you, though your timing (after what has been 2 great days of wrestling) puzzles me. I mean if they keep this up then what we're witnessing right now is the beggining of the way up..
Oh and just for the record, I'm not saying that I'm fully convinced that this is the turnaround for the divas division, the tagdivision or the product in general. I'm simply saying that after Payback and yesterday's MNR, I don't feel it's too farfetched to be a little positive about the dub-dub-E.
On the hopes that this could be a turning point. I'll give you that much. As to my timing....we've been tricked before. There have been many times where it seems like they're going to go somewhere with something, only to shove it back into the garbage can.
My example of that lies with the Tag Team division. Back when they were gathering talent. Legitimate tag teams. Teams Like Curt Hawkins/Vance Archer and The Dude Busters. Where it took more than throwing two random guys together to create a team. They began to credit themselves...heck i believe that was the time that the Usos even joined in and were catching some eyes (much like they're doing now). My point is, after months of building these teams...they released a few of them..broke up the teams and went nowhere...once again...with the division. That being said, i'll look at the positives.
Believe me, as much as i dislike AJ Lee and believe she is annoying. They can have some really good stuff going, and if they capitalize on it right. A Storyline that doesn't involve a diva being bullied could be a good start. Heck. AJ being the rebel against the Corporation (Stephanie McMahon) could even catch some interest. More interest than some of the storylines that we are seeing today. Raw last night was Solid in pretty much in every way, even in the Divas category (Which it's been a while since i could say that). So...i'll definitely agree with you in things that are looking up. Repped up for that Post in fact.
One thing i think they should steer away from is the "Whiny" aspect of promos. They had a good promo going and then Kaitlyn had the mic and she went on her "I'm tired of being bullied" speel, and it sounded like she was just whining and was going to cry. Back when The Divas were a huge part of the show, there was little to none of that.
If it sounded like i was arguing with you in any way, i apologize. Don't take it like that at all. Just went on a mini rant is all.
