Is Punk now as over as J.Hardy was?

I made this thread years ago and Jeff won easy, I'd like to see where people stand on the opinion now.

In 2009 Punk could only dream of reaching Hardy's popularity (and this coming from a huge Punk mark), but now I think it would be pretty even with Hardy getting louder pops just by a bit.

John Cena is turning heel soon

Nope, Hardy was as over as can be from 08-10. Was outselling cena in merch. That says something there. Clearly punk is the better talent, but I really don't think he is more over than Jeff was.

Top 10 all time favorites:

Stone Cold Steve Austin
The Undertaker
Shawn Michaels
Chris Jericho
Brock Lesnar
Kurt Angle
HHH
Edge
CM Punk
Kane (98-04)

I'd say CM Punk is higher in the company than Jeff has ever been but hardy is a spot monkey, if he didn't perform spots from the top of ladders, though tables etc, he wouldn't be half as over as he is. Although i have to say hardys probably more over, Punks a Heel, so you cant really tell until his face return.

Nope, very few in the past decade have been as popular as Jeff Hardy was at his best.

Naa, as much as I like Punk, from the period of 2008-09 hardy was crazy, crazy popular! When he won the WWE title the pop was deafening .

Re: Is Punk now as over as J.Hardy was?

If you are talking about getting pops, Punk is heel right now, so he doesn't get pops in every crowd. Anyway, he is general terms more popular than Jeff Hardy was. What Punk does feels bigger than what Hardy did some years ago, if that is what you mean.

Re: Is Punk now as over as J.Hardy was?

Jeff Hardy is one of the best babyfaces in the business and has been for the last six or seven years. He would be a megastar in the WWE right now if he didn't have his personal issues and if he actually wanted it. He's doing well for himself in TNA right now imo.

I still don't get the fascination with Hardy. I never have and never will like the dude. Each to their own though.
