Only when it leads to them pushing people that aren't good. Other than that I don't care what someone looks like as long as I find them entertaining.

Re: Are you against the big guy philosophy?

Don't judge me, but I was a huge Ultimate Warrior and Lex Luger fan when I was a kid. I got over them pretty quickly, because Bret was a hometown hero so he came first, but those two were the guys who dragged me in.

After that, I've not really minded big men. I get tired of their booking, even if it's logical. You get good ones like the Undertaker, Kane, and (well can we count Brock Lesnar and Goldberg as big men?) but then you get bad ones like Nathan Jones and Mark Henry for most of his career.

Re: Are you against the big guy philosophy?

you can be a larger than life character and not be big e.g. rey mysterio is a superhero to millions

the problem in wwe for along time was that there was a perfect tv size according to them (6'2-6'4 230-260lb) and that is complete bullshit, fans too have been indoctrinated to that, look at all the posts online by people claiming that fans could beat up cm punk yet punk is bigger than floyd mayweather...

jokes about "short" e langton because he isn't 6'6, the man is 5'11 ffs ie not short, mr t was the most badass sob on tv back in the 1980s and he was 5'10

Is it just me or are people in general getting smaller?

I mean when I was in school over 10 years ago now, we were all pretty tall looking guys, you fast forward through out the years and even to today and they are just so much smaller. You look at how wrestling has changed now too.

DDP and Kanyon, do they count? Tall guys to be sure, but not 'big' men.

I remember an interview with Bischoff in 2003 where he believed the sport of pro wrestling in terms of the talent would be getting smaller in terms of height and weight. I can't argue against him tbh.

Anyway, I'm not entirely against big wrestlers at all but most of the big wrestlers WWE has these days are garbage. What I hate is wrestlers getting pushed entirely on their look.

Re: Are you against the big guy philosophy?

OP, define 'credible'.

Because there are MMA fighters and boxers - y'know, legit sports competitors - who are far smaller than many pro wrestlers, especially the guys you listed.

This whole size thing needs to stop. Granted, I'd never want to see the world title on Spike Dudley, but that's on the extreme end of the spectrum. Being under six feet tall shouldn't automatically disqualify a guy from ever achieving success.

Look at Brock then look at that goof Ryback. Brock is 500 times more talented than Ryback.

Re: Are you against the big guy philosophy?

The last thing the WWE would want is for someone to say to themselves or to a friend "I bet I could kick that guys ass." That just looks bad.

I think Vince's height/weight thing has skewed how large some of the guys seem, though. I mean, there are posts calling guys 6'3 and 6'4 indie midgets, and such.

Ainsi sera, groigne qui groigne.
