Do you reckon they begged Taker to stay?

For the past few years Undertaker has been allowed to basically take a year off and come back for the build up to Wrestlemania which is perfectly acceptable especially at a man Undertakers age who has done more then enough over the years. But for the past couple of years, WWE has always had the back-up and starpower with people like The Rock to keep the viewers drawn in.

With Rock seemingly out for the future and also Punk out, do you reckon they asked Taker to stay because of the lack of star-power that they have, and in my opinion - I think Undertaker is needed at the moment and is a great addition if he is to work live shows and pay-per-views.

You have to admitt it, with Rock gone - that left a huge spot, and Undertaker is a great man who is avalible and not retired and hopefully he feels good enough to go for one last full run. What do you think?

probably because the rocks gone and punks out for a while, they really need him at the moment but if punk wasnt injured i dont think we would be seeing taker at all.

Vince begging Undertaker to stay lol I cant see that happening . I think Undertaker saw the lack of star power and he offered to do the UK London show since CM Punk has took off for his time off

Re: Do you reckon they begged Taker to stay?

It's either one of two things.

1. Vince realized they were going to be losing CM Punk and asked Taker to stick around until Punk can come back so the show didn't suffer as much due to it, there is a lot of mutual respect between Taker and Punk so I can see Taker agreeing to this to give Punk some time off, I doubt Vince would have had to beg him to stay. The Rock would have never factored into this whether he was injured or not, from the interview the Rock gave the other day the plan after mania was to have Lesnar beat him down and take him out so he can go film Hercules, his last appearance for awhile would have been the Raw after mania regardless.

2. This was planned since before Punk had to take time off, it could be Taker's last year before retirement and HOF induction so he wanted one last full run.

No, I think he put on a much less physical match than he had the 3 years prior with HHH and HBK. The one with Punk obviously didn't take to much of a tole on him. If he didn't wanna work the Shield, he probably wouldn't. Especially after reading the SD spoilers, my guess is this was just as much his idea, as it was theirs.

No, I think it's Taker's last year with the WWE, despite what people think, he knows he can still go more than once a year. Looking at his reaction after his Mania win, I thought it was sinking into him how much he's loved, and how much he's going to miss it all. So he's giving a little bit more this year, and what a treat it has been already for us English fans, and to Bryan and the Shield.

This, I'd expect a massive thank you Taker the RAW after WM. It's deserved. Also a massive WM to bow out on being it 30 years.

Well said, I think he is retiring this year too, with Wrestlemania 30 being his last and possibiliy facing Cena.

Gorgeous George ingrained it into pop culture, Sammartino built MSG, Andre became a global phenomenal, Hogan created two booms, Piper opened the doors to Hollywood, Austin took it to its very peak and The Rock, well he transcended them all.

I hope we can see a great last run for Undertaker, he deserves nothing less, the greatest legend ever IMO.

If this is his last year, I would love a WWE title run for him.

Punk v Taker rematch at Summerslam for the title sounds golden.
