I agree with this, I don't think that if Jeter played for the Red Sox that the city would immediately embrace him either.
Some people see the wrestlers as extensions of themselves and they are more drawn to the darker, evil, more angry types. Kids like Cena, parents like Cena, ergo McMahon like Cena. You can't lose Cena or you lose $$. You can have an angrier Cena a more cynical Cena, but he can't be a heel. That's like Santa Claus giving the finger to the Easter Bunny.
Think of ALL the "heels" that have come and gone in Cena's 10 years that they have brought into challenge him. yes he's stayed the same, but it works. He's the definition of charity and giving to sick kids and that's all people need to understand. Don't confuse Cena in the ring with the person, they aren't the same.
