The blatant pandering to the Mexicans, the fact that he randomly decides to thicken his accent and speak in broken English for one fifth of his promos, the stupid bucket of little Mexican flag confetti, the high fives, the stupid smilieness, the way they've booked the entire Big Show feud, and mainly the "Si!" chants are all why I fucking hate ADR, these stupid comedy attempts, and this is coming from a person who has a bunch of Mexican friends and likes the culture.
Imagine if AAA did some shows in Tijuana and then they decided to push a white guy, developed a "Yes!" chant, had every opposing heel insult America and him for being American, had his equally stereotypical manager throw confetti with the American flag at people, had him speak mainly Spanish (I don't watch AAA but I'm assuming they speak mainly Spanish) with a thick American accent and then randomly insult his opponents in English, and booked him to win every match against a heel but then those heels to beat up everybody else just to get this guy over. You'd hate him too even though you're America, and yes, I know that was a bad example, and there are better ones out there, but this is basically what Del Rio has been.
I can't stress enough how awfully booked the Del Rio feuds with Big Show and Jack Swagger have been, it legitimately angers me how bad the booking is because of how fucking simple it is to just book a face better than they've booked Del Rio. I've never seen WWE try so hard to get anybody over the way they have tried to get ADR over.
How am I not supposed to hate him? He's a blatant example of the fact that every babyface right now is just insulting to the intelligence of the fans.

I pay attention to everything about him because hey i have a sweet spot for the guy...not ashamed of that. The ENTIRE booking of del rio has been wrong from the jump. He should have NEVER been a heel and given that gimmick because when people bitch about del rio beating one of their faves they refer to him as the Mexican jbl which i really never understood. Jbl had one limo that was chauffeur driven. Del rio drove different cars himself every week. Also wwe really watered down his moveset although now as a face he gets to show a little more. When i watch him wrestle he is VERY vicious. I notice that he kicks certain people harder than others. That's that mma for your ass. I don't think he will lose that because that's who he is. I have seen many interviews with del rio, I've met him several times and we talk alot on twitter and he really is just a laid back cool as dude. Although i found the parody video funny it is out of his character to do stuff like that. I think people can sense it to.
I've asked him not to let wwe turn him into a generic babyface. We don't want another cena or sheamus. I don't think del rio is doing anything wrong as a face but wwe is booking him like shit. Making spoof videos instead of letting him kick ass. I also don't like how his turn was executed. That shit was random as hell. That's straight laziness on part of wwe. Now as far as his reactions go. Yes he is WAYYY over in large hispanic areas. In other areas he isn't as much but he still gets good reactions. No one can deny the reactions during and after his natches. The si chant Alberto chants del rio chants and the oooo's ahhh's claps and oohhh's. There are alot of people that still say I'm starting to warm up to del rio as a face so I'm hoping it gets better for him. The last 2 weeks on raw was the first time since turning face that del rio's segment/match has lost viewers. When he was feuding with show their stuff had the 2nd highest gain constantly and you can check the ratings break down if you don't believe me.
This storyline with swagger is hurting del rio's momentum. There was an article on espn i believe their power rankings and it stated that swagger is bringing del rio down. Neither one has had the proper build. Especially swagger. This angle isn't personal yet. No one watches wrestling to hear about immigrants and shit so it's losing interest and hurting del rio. Wwe should have waited until AT LEAST SummerSlam to have del rio become whc. Build him up more before pulling that trigger. Yes it was a beautiful moment definitely the feel good moment of the year so far. It's STILL people (mainly casuals) that don't even know del rio is a face. I still believe this will be a great year for del rio but I'm afraid wwe will fuck it up trying to make him a generic babyface like ceNO. He's one of the best wrestlers in the company. His matches are excellent. When he's being serious on the Mic his promos IMO are good. I honestly do not understand how people find him boring i really don't. I love the guy and i just want him to do great. I got his back 100%
What the fuck? First of all, his heel character was incredibly similar to that of JBL and you're being ridiculous if you deny it. Did you even watch JBL? An aristocratic heel who likes to show off his money and has people that help him win matches. And saying he works a "very vicious" style is proof you don't know what you're talking about. His ring style is one of the softest in WWE today.
And shut up, you've never even talked to him on Twitter. That's just a very stupid made up lie that's completely ridiculous. He's not "WAYYY OVER" in Hispanic areas, everybody is way over on Smackdown because it's pre-taped and therefore the audio is edited, otherwise Smackdown mid-carders wouldn't outpop Raw main eventers. Of course Del Rio's segments should be some of the highest of the week, anything else is a major disappointment; he's the world heavyweight champion. I have no doubt that his segments are going to continue to lose ratings until something changes. And now you're using ESPN to talk about wrestling? I should have stopped reading there but I'm bored and I need to kill time before real wrestling comes on TV.
Oh and he's far from a real life badass, stop it with that shit, I don't watch much MMA but I've never seen any guy look as scared as Del Rio does here and just run away from his opponent for the whole fight, back himself into a turnbuckle, and then get kicked in the head.
