Should Antonio Cesaro become the longest reigning US champion in history?

The longest reigning United States champion was Lex Luger who held the title for 523 days from May 22, 1989 to October 27, 1990. Antonio has held the title for 200 days
I hope they don't make the same mistake they did with Cody (I still get angry when I think about it). Antonio won't be main eventing anytime soon, so breaking Luger's record would be perfect IMO. What do you think?

Would be nice for his first title run, but I think Vince wants move him up the card fast.

No, because he's better than the US title and should be in line for world title shots.

I'd settle for him going on a super dominating run, instead of feeling like he's just being plugged in to whoever needs the screentime.

Call Kenny Loggins. Cause you're in the Danger Zone.

I should hope they won't keep him toiling in obscurity for another year.

Ainsi sera, groigne qui groigne.

I think it'd be great, I'm a big fan of Cesaro. Sadly, these days having a long reign of any really doesn't seem to mean much. I'd much rather we saw him in the World Title scene, would be refreshing and would allow his character to develop more.

Sadly, Miz is defeating him for the belt at Mania.

That's exactly the reason he should. He'd make the US title mean something again.

If I calculated correctly, he'd need to hold the title until December-January to surpass Lex Luger's reign.

Re: Should Antonio Cesaro become the longest reigning US champion in history?

IF they went that route; I'd rather they make a storyline of it, with many superstars from RAW, SD, heck even NXT who try their utmost to have Cesaro lose his championship. (Because only a true American should ever break the longest reign record of the US Championship)

It shouldn't be a 24/7 overcome-the-odds-athon, but a mix between barely winning a match and completely squashing opponents in other matches.
The PPV match before the 'reignbreaking' should be an orgy of excitement. Ending in a last breath amazing uppercut.
(Falls count anywhere: Cesaro's KO'd on the announce table, someone jumps from the top rope onto the announce table, but at the last split second, Cesaro gets up, gives the other guy one of his breathtaking European uppercuts and just falls into the cover. 1. 2. 3.)
(And yes, I am expecting a forced face-turn, because if done right, the crowd will get behind Cesaro, like they are behind Punk)

This storyline really writes itself.

?
-I think he should break that record

-Cesaro is talented and He shouldn't be rushed into the main-event like Ryback

-A Lex Luger appearance in Raw would be great

-A victory over a Legend(Luger if he can wrestle/Jericho) would do wonders for him

I don't care for the guy so I don't mind.

If you're a fan of his, you'd want him to lose the title soon.
