When did Hogan go over Rock? Only time I can remember him pinning Rock was in the tag match nwo vs austin and rock

Current favourites: CM Punk, The Shield, Dolph Ziggler, Daniel Bryan, Bray Wyatt.
All time favourites: The Undertaker, The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, CM Punk, Scott Hall.

Not removing until CM Punk is back in the WWE.

Option 1. It tarnishes his legacy to me because I think if it wasn't for him someone who's still going to be in the WWE in a few years would be champ.

It hasn't tarnished his legacy, because A) from a kayfabe wise he has been a beast and has dominated in his short stint and B) from a casual sense he is back and better than ever

But, personally, and I am shocked to even say this, I do NOT find The Rock as entertaining and find myself waiting for his promos to be over, whereas before I could not WAIT to hear The Rock cut a promo. Not sure why though

Re: Has the Rock's return tarnished or "bettered" his legacy for you?

Nothing can tarnish his legacy it's just we live in a age where constant complaining from backseat bookers is now the norm. Flair & Hogan have both done enough to ruin their legacies yet they're still seen as 2 of the greatest ever by the majority of fans. Rock accomplished everything there was to do and he went on to succeed at something else, his career is a perfect example of what a wrestler is suppose to do. He never overstayed is welcome and now he's giving back to the fans, most fans still love him it's just the iwc that now wants to condemn everything as overrated or stale. We've actually had threads questioning Stone Cold's legacy ffs

To me, he feels more like Dwayne Johnson in the ring rather than The Rock nowadays. I'll always be a fan of The Rock, but I'm kind of indifferent to Dwayne Johnson. He's done nothing to tarnish his legacy, but nothing to improve it either imo, so I'm going with neutral.

Re: Has the Rock's return tarnished or "bettered" his legacy for you?

I wouldn't say either really. I'm glad to see him back though. Him and Brock returning have finally breathed some life into this product.

His promos and matches have been overall a bit lackluster though. Too much pandering. I know, he's always been 'the people's champion' but it was never really like this. And the jokes are as bad as ever but he still makes them work. Because, bad material aside, it's hard to not have your attention taken by the guy. He is arguably one of the "Most Electrifying Men" to ever step into the ring as far as charisma is concerned.

I think what really annoys me is that a part-time superstar beat CM Punk's historic reign. Now, mind you, I really don't mind Rock getting another short title run. It's a feel-good moment for the fans and gathers some publicity. Rock beats Punk's big reign, then is sure to put some up-and-coming heel or face over hugely at Wrestlemania, and that'd make things all right.

...Nope.

Cena's just going to be the one who would've had the rub and takes the title, and nothing will be accomplished.

Yeah, cuz a tag match on Raw and the biggest match at Wrestlemania is the same thing.

Re: Has the Rock's return tarnished or "bettered" his legacy for you?

Since his return, he has sold out arenas, achieved the wwe massive buyrates, brang a shit load of mainstream attention to the WWE, and before he leaves, he will put over someone and turn them into a star.

How anyone can say Rock has tarnished his legacy is hilarious, if anything, he's bettered it, by being a 40 year old man who has come back after 7 years and has proved he is still peaks ahead of everyone on the roster, including Punk and Cena, combined.

Re: Has the Rock's return tarnished or "bettered" his legacy for you?

Nothing will ever "tarnish" Rock's legacy for me. However, I view Rock of the present day and Rock in the late 90s/early 00s as two entirely different entities. No matter what he does now, I will always remember him in his GOAT days.

I haven't really enjoyed Rock's 2013 stuff but in 2011 and his Cena feud he did his role (pun intended) adequately. I wish he just stopped his endless pandering and corny catchphrases, he did that in the AE but he does it overkill nowadays and makes nearly all of his promos strikingly similar.
