Re: Jerry "The King" Lawler Discussion

Jerry Lawler is in his 60's his kids are in their 30's or 40's. Were your grandparents hip and with it?

I'd rather see Styles, Ross, JBL, and Striker.

I wonder if Flair could do a good job

Re: Jerry "The King" Lawler Discussion

If RAW has a cancer, then it's the life-sapping duo of Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler being the announcers. Get them the fuck off this show. This is coming from one of the biggest Jerry Lawler marks there was from about 14 years ago.

Lawler is so dreadful to listen to... he phones in his commentary with this horrible false-enthusiasm in his voice that clearly demonstrates he does not care about anything that is taking place and is merely reading his lines. Why Vince McMahon feels so indebted to him and insists on keeping him as one of the lead announcers for the WWE is anyone's guess. I was saddened to see him suffer the heart attack and fortunately, he recovered from it. Unfortunately, it means he's going to be riding that sympathy heat for at least another ten years, clogging up the broadcast booth worse than his arteries were. What kills me is that they have Jim Ross on their payroll and refuse to use him because "he's too old" and "he's too Southern." Meanwhile, Lawler's older than J.R. and is from fucking MEMPHIS! Jesus Christ! Fuck this company!

Re: Jerry "The King" Lawler Discussion

He needs to go and leave JBL be in his place. It's obvious that Lawler stopped caring about the show a long time ago.
I can hardly accept that they can mix moves names, but seriously mixing up champions/formers champions names :langston.

Re: Jerry "The King" Lawler Discussion

Like I said in the RAW discussion thread; I think it's gotten a lot worse since he came back from his heart attack. I really believe he's been put medically on something since his incident to slow his heart rate, or painkillers, or just something that is making him slow, forgetful and distant.

With that said; it could be something even more depressing. Sure we were told he suffered no long term ill-effects and no brain damage. But who's to say that's true? They could have just not seen the damage, or maybe Lawler and his doctors have simply hidden it at his request.

Whatever it is; the man has gone from a quick witted, sharp as a tac legendary speaker, to a slow, dull, distant, forgetful, mumbling and fumbling mess, in the space of less than a decade. I'm sorry but that's not normal. It reminds me of watching Muhammad Ali in his prime cutting epic promos, and then seeing him a decade or so later when he'd taken countless beatings slurring and mumbling all over the place. Just sad.

Re: Jerry "The King" Lawler Discussion

His commentary at the Chamber PPV yesterday was awful, specifically in the Shield/Superfriends match. JBL and Cole were making genuine points about The Shield being a unit and a formidable tag team. All King would do is babble like a 5-year old saying they suck and how could anyone like them.

He is boring and contributes nothing. Cole is annoying too, but can at least be funny at times.

JBL should take over for King full time. And where the HELL is Scott Stanford?

Re: Jerry "The King" Lawler Discussion

The commentary on Raw is just awful. They botch names all the time, the jokes make Cena seem hilarious, Cole's voice has singlehandedly ruined every big return/debut in recent memory, they blatantly ignore the crowd and bury segments before they even get underway, and they can't even put in the effort to properly call moves. "WHAT A THROW!"

The both of them can get fucked.

Not removing until you listen to this.

THE IWC:

Arrive.
Complain.
Leave.

If I hear Nikki Bella say "ya know whaaaat?" one more time, ya mo burn this place to the ground.

JBL is right - he needs a one-man booth.
