Just because he is considered #2 guy in the company doesn't mean he is the best from the last years. Comparing him with Edge again (btw, I didn't start this comparison), when Edge rose to main event status he was swimming with sharks, the likes of Triple H, Cena, Taker, Batista, Michaels, Orton, Kurt Angle.

Besides John Cena, Punk was and is just swimming with crayfish, if you pardon my expression xD So, naturally him being the most talented in a mediocre roster, he got pushed to the moon .

Building new stars is not WWE's priority.

Ignoring genuine talent, PG dancing segments and John Cena are at the top of their to-do list.

Anyhow, I just thought that when you have some guys dominating solid superstars after superstars for months and then being beaten and chased with their tails between their legs by Super Cena and friends, their momentum just drops pretty low. I may have exaggerated a bit, but if that happens to them again, then at least in my eyes they won't be anywhere near the same threat as they were since their inception.
How is it being chased with their tails between their legs when there were like 10 people come out of the locker room to back up Cena + pals? It was a legit beatdown. They have to get theirs now and again, that's how heel booking works. The bigger concern will be if the go home Raw before the PPV has the Shield standing tall over Cena, because that usually means he's going to overcome the pretend odds and destroy the entire stable. Don't freak out yet.

I agree. They need to do something, IMO they have the guys that can do it. They just have to take a chance a let them be themselves. I do agree about Ziggler, needs to go back to his brown hair, he really looked like a bad ass then.

Agree that they should be building some new stars. Instead, WWE has made it obnoxiously clear that 2013 is the year of John Cena. Because, you know, he had such a terrible 2012 in losing to The Rock, then the very next month beating the unbeatable Brock Lesnar. And while he wasn't champion, he still mananged to main event every PPV he wrestled on. Which was WWE's way of telling us that John Cena is better and more important than the champion.

Yeah, what a terrible year. And don't give me the "But it was a bad year by Cena standards!!11". Big shit. The only reason it wasn't up to Cena standards is because Cena is practically booked like God from 2005-2011. Heaven forbid WWE try to create a new star, for, you know...the future. Who knows, maybe Vince thinks Cena is going to wrestle forever.

Agree with you that Cesaro needs a gimmick change. I can't invest time in watching him because I'm not interested in his character enough. Yeah he's a good wrestler but his character and his feuds are boring.

Ambrose (and the rest of The Shield) will be fine. It's very early days for them and if they are all that they are made out to be then they'll do wonders. You can't hold back talent if it is THAT good.

I'm totally with you on Ryback. He doesn't tick any of the boxes other than his sheer size. He's a lousy talker, has a certain goofiness about him that makes you not be able to take him seriously and also has really awkwardly paced matches.

I don't think Sheamus is terrible on the mic, he's not great but he's okay. I think he is solid in the ring and he's had some good PPV matches in the past. However, his character is just so bland and generic good/tough guy.

I don't agree with you on Ziggler. He's totally over with what he's doing right now. The only thing that is holding him back is the WWE not giving him the right push. It feels like he's taking one step forward and two steps back. It's not his fault, everything he is doing is great and he's really developed as a good talker but everytime WWE do something good like get rid of his alliance with Vicky Guerrero, they'll do something twice as bad like have Cena kick out of literally everything Ziggler has to offer (and more) and then beat him in one AA.

I think WWE will be fine. I still think we have a couple of more years of part-timer guys showing up and adding star power. But you've gotta think, before The Rock showed up at hosted Mania:

Punk was a mid-carder
Bryan was stuck with a bland gimmick and often not on the show
Ziggler was low mid-card
The Shield weren't even signed
Sandow didn't exist

You remember Evolution? how many times have they been beaten down in the first few months of their inception? Even in the first year. That was how a strong stable should be built.

Yes and if he lost the pink, it would be ideal.
