Why the fuck has Mark Henry never been WWE champion?
He's the world's strongest man. There is no gimmick more deserving of being the champion in a wrestling company, than the world's strongest man. No gimmick more believable as the champion of a wrestling company, than the world's strongest man.
Mark Henry was an awesome WHC, by far the best one in ages - to be honest, by the time he won it, I don't think this guy would ever get the title. He put up with A LOT of crappy gimmicks, it sucks when you see some of the newer guys get the title in less than a year or two, meanwhile this guy had to bust his ass for 16 years.
If he didn't get injured, the WWE would likely look very different today. The guy is pretty much the ultimate non-chicken shit heel.
People that are throwing these "because he's black" comments out there are idiots. At least STATE why you feel that way. Everyone that has a different opinion gave reasons why they feel so. The only people that give no reason for their comment are the ones throwing the race card in there.
Because, aside from the Rock, who's only half black, and who they literally had no choice put to push because he was insanely over, not to mention, they needed all the stars they could get to beat WCW, any guy who has been legitimate main event level talent has never really got the sustained spot they deserved.
It's bullshit. Henry is awesome, and potentially the biggest rating mover in the company if booked correctly. I haven't watched Smackdown in months and will tonight. A few of my friends, casual fans, are interested to see Mark tear shit up, too.
They missed the boat with Mark. They still have time to rectify this mistake. They won't, though.
It took Mark a real long time to "get it". He was a real awful in-ring wrestler for most of his career and spent a lot of time injured. He was also buried pretty heavily early in his career with all the stupid shit they had him doing.
I'm sorry but The Rock has never looked like a black man. A lot of non-wrestling fans still try and guess what race he is. He's was the first Black WWE Champion, took almost 10 years off, came back, won it again and is still the ONLY black WWE Champion.
Its not crazy to think "What if The Rock looked like Booker T, R-Truth or Mark Henry? Would he have become WWE Champion?".
Hard to pass off NEVER having a Black WWE Champion off as some coincidence. There have been enough talented wrestlers that were in a position to be pushed but never got it.
Ron Simmons
Booker T - completely absurd that he never held the belt in a time where it was passed around like Kelly Kelly's vagina.
R-Truth - poised & ready to win it in 2011. Got buried by Cena and then had his angle STOLEN. 2011 should have been the Summer or Truth.
MVP - Had the talent. He had a long US Title reign where afterward he could have been pushed toward a World Title but instead go buried. Maybe his criminal past held him back but doesn't seem like since they pushed him as US Champion hard.
Shelton Benjamin - One of the best wrestler during his time in WWE. Didn't have the mic skills but neither did RVD, Jeff Hardy, Rey Mysterio, Batista(early on), Alberto Del Rio but it didn't stop them. He was ready for a push after his series of matches with Triple H.
Kofi Kingston - He should have won the Royal Rumble in 2009. In his feud w/ Orton he showed he could get VERY over, work main event matches, & cut at least decent promos. Instead of getting a push, he got buried over a botch that didn't effect the match. Edge won the Royal Rumble that year. Edge? Like he really needed that.
Mark Henry - he didn't just get better in 2011. He could have pulled that Hall of Pain gimmick off back in 05. He was the same guy.

Not sure if serious. MVP is mixed race and both of these guys are the same color as The Rock.
And Godfather as WWE Champion? :lmao you guys. Just own up and face the facts - there was never a talented black man good enough to be WWE Champion besides The Rock. I completely agree on MVP but again, let me say that MVP is HALF WHITE. So saying "MVP could have been the first black WWE Champion" is not an opinion, its a lie.
Because thats The Rock. And you can twist it any way you want but the fact remains, The Rock is the first black WWE Champion in history. Just like Barack Obama is the first black President of the United States. And Tiger Woods is considered a black man. I could go on all day but how anyone can deny this is absolutely baffling to me.
I don't think he's really deserved to be WWE champion until his 2011-current Hall of Pain run. I'd definitely get on board a Mark Henry title reign right now, but I don't think he's been wrongfully denied it all these years or anything.
Mark ''ratings'' Henry just doesnt have what it takes to be WWE champion Vince just doesnt see potential in him
