How can "The Worlds Strongest Man" never have been WWE champion?

Why the fuck has Mark Henry never been WWE champion?

He's the world's strongest man. There is no gimmick more deserving of being the champion in a wrestling company, than the world's strongest man. No gimmick more believable as the champion of a wrestling company, than the world's strongest man.

Fuck Vince.

That.

Vince will hand the black guys the SmackDown title one time when they're like 40 years old to try to prove he isn't racist, but they have a glass ceiling in WWE, the top title is totally out of bounds. It's like being English in WWE but a little better because at least they get SOMETHING.

I will never understand why people get so upset when people suggest that racism could be involved in WWE. Stop living in a delusional bubble & realize race plays a factor in almost everything in life. Why is it so crazy to think Vince doesn't like the idea of a black carrying the companies title? Oh, because he gave it to The Rock? A lot of non-wrestling fans don't even know he's black. Its not exactly easy to tell by looking at him.

Not saying EVERY black wrestler was WWE Title material but come on, the fact that there has NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER been a black WWE Champion isn't just some coincidence.

In Henry case, I didn't think he was WWE Championship material until his heel push back near 05. He was a joke for a lot of his career. He was never really given the ball until his WHC reign in 2011. He could have pulled that run off 4-5 years before then.

Not saying Henry shouldn't have ever been WWE champ, but since when does one attribute mean someone deserves to be something?

Just cause someone can run real fast, does it mean he should play baseball? Or just because someone has good hand-eye coordination, does it mean they should play hockey?

If you watch sports, you'll see how many guys are just 1 thing, nothing else, and their overall success suffers. In baseball, one guy might be fast(and can steal bases), but if he can't even get on base to begin with, or can't even field, then there's really no point of being a fast guy at all.

Like I said, not saying Henry didn't deserve to be WWE Champ, but if only reason is cause of being "worlds strongest man", that's not really best of reasons. Just like in UFC, strongest guys in company don't always win the fights. Sure, WWE doesn't matter how strong someone is because it's all planned out, but still, should be considered similar concept.

Have you seen Mark Henry for the past 16 years?

I'll say this. His World Title run a while back was not only the best run he ever had....it was the only good one. And even that was nothing cutting edge or new. They basically took the big man and actually had him win. It really wasn't that different from his runs in 2004 & 2006. The only change was that they had him win, so he came off as more credible.

Before that though, I remember shitty awful Henry that was around forever and ever and ever and ever and was always in line for big pushes and always either sucked or he always got hurt. Him being injury prone has been a massive problem as he always feels like he is one of those guys that always has a push cut short because he gets hurt. Again, this isn't a recent thing. It has been going on for most of his career. Now I guess you could say the same thing about Edge, but Edge was at least good! I missed Edge whenever he was off TV.

I don't think I can think of anybody that got as many chances as he did to get over. It really is one of the most peculiar cases in wrestling history.

Now when you look at Mark Henry's career, he was on the same roster as The Rock, The Undertaker, Steve Austin, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, Kurt Angle, Chris Jericho, Edge, Randy Orton, Mick Foley, The Big Show (he wasn't even the only big guy around!), Brock Lesnar, John Cena, Kane, & CM Punk, all while they were in their primes. Not to mention the roster of guys he was surrounded with like Carlito, Shelton Bejamin, Christian, and various others that had potential but didn't that big push in the end for one reason or another. Would you push Henry over those guys? Hell the only reason he got a World Title run in the first place is because there are two World Titles and that doubles the amount of World Title spots.

Kofi Kingston?
Booker T?
Bobby Lashley?
R Truth?

Im pretty sure Titus O´neill will soon get either the tag team title or in some time some other title.

It wasn´t because he was black.

1. He dont have IT for a wwe champ.
2. He´s rarely over with the crowd as both heel and face. It come a bit now when he was the whc champ, but before that nah.
3. He is not very talented in other areas other than being strong.
4. The competition have always been so much better: Goldberg, Bork Laser, Batista, HBK, Triple H, JBL, Cena etc.
5. Big Show is a far better big intimidating guy then Henry because Big Show have Charisma and can work that mic.

He peaked too late unfortunately. That's the truth of the matter regarding Henry, whether the race card has anything to do with it. I don't think with Henry it matters too much because he only really started coming into his own in 2011. The other times they pushed him it failed either because of injury problems or it wasn't getting over.

Booker T: Now there is a guy who should have been a WWE Champion at some point in his career and didn't. That has a legitimate case for racism being a real reason.

Booker T was the only black person who had enough talent to hold the WWE title, but he didn't get it in the end.

Stop being delusional people.

poor planning on WWEs part

having the worlds strongest man as your wrestling champion sounds like a match made in heaven but it means having to have Mark get one-ups on the more popular charasmatic main eventers and Vince is pretty hesitant to go the whole haul every time Mark henry gets a push

His time came too late, I guess. With stars like Goldberg, HHH, Cena, Rock, Brock, Batista, Angle, Jericho, Taker, and HBK. Henry just played that character who if you beat him, it pretty much meant you overcame HUGE odds. I never expected to enjoy Henry's WHC reign as much as I did.

Why would you be more believable just because you are the strongest? That's hardly the one key component in fighting. Pudzianowski isn't a good fighter.

As for Henry he's just never made it to that top spot. What was more surprising is that he had never even been a world champ at all until a couple of years ago but his role was just that of being the obstacle to overcome.

At least he did win a world title. The WWE signed him back in 1996. He was always getting injured and to WWE's credit, they never gave up on him. They have always used him on TV. He actually got better as the years went on

I'm so sick and tired of reading stupid racist accusations.

Henry was never that good and there were always people a lot better than him.

That's why.

Because Mark Henry just isn't THAT great. I mean, I stopped watching WWE around 2005 or so and even then I was wondering why the fuck were they bothering with this guy. He seemed to make a 'big return' every couple of years and nobody gave a shit. Then in 2011 he finally gives it some welly and becomes the perfect heel monster. Sorry, but too little too late.

In fact, yeah what TripleG said. Another case for scrapping two world titles right there.
