Well, it's a perfectly fine explaination for that. They tried to set up him vs Sheamus a few times, but before EC he got a concussion and then they tried setting it up for summerslam, but he was suspended, and then they decided to punish him a bit/he had to shoot a movie and then Cena had to win the Royal Rumble. It's just bad timing. That's all.
And before you ask, yes I am a mark.

Well, he's the one who decided to get suspended last year, so he kinda've blew it. He'd probably would've been champion in late 2012 if he didn't get suspended.
But to be honest, I'm glad he's been in the midcard lately like he has been since his return.

He's putting stars over and has been doing it the past year or so. Something Cena hasn't done....in like forever. When Orton goes heel, he'll be back as the top man in the WWE.

The thing is Randy Orton really ISN'T in the midcard. He just isn't in the World Title picture.
If he were in the midcard, he would be feuding with Heath Slater, instead of simply squashing him like they was nothing.

IMO, all he needs is to win two or three important matches and getting treated like a star he is. No matter how hard WWE would try to push Sheamus or Punk, after that in the eyes of fans Orton would get his #2 spot back.
