He's got huge upside and potential, I think WWE is just waiting. For what reason I have no idea but they seem to holding back with him for now.

There's a lot of things he could do to help his cause. Edit the screaming "Yeah!" back into his entrance, wear jeans with long tights underneath, and use whatever mic time he has to put over his character. New attire will definitely get him noticed.

Oh please...
outside of his amazing nexus run which im now starting to think was more about the whole angle and the fact it was fresh and less about barretts skills he has done and shown nothing to warrent any kind of main event push and before u say its his booking and soo on im talking about his whole gimmick, matches and all round persona.

looks wise he comes out looking like a poor randy orton
he talks as monotonous as randy orton does but somehow is even less listenable.

in ring he has done nothing special but his nexus run wasnt about his in ring skills it was all about his mic and promo work and thats gone along with any push he was getting.

I don't know what the fuck you've been smoking but he doesn't have a single similarity with Orton other than the fact that they're both tall.

Nexus as a group were the attraction. Not Barrett.

They only reason they pushed his ass was because the real star of NXT 1 was temporarily fired. And Barrett was bigger than the rest. That's it.

Barrett should've won the title and run amok on RAW forcing Cena to gather up the super friends and his arch-enemies to work together and bring down Nexus. Instead... well, we got what we got. Wade being symbolically buried under all those chairs at TLC was pretty funny actually.

But no, it didn't stop there. Nexus were dragged out with Genesis or whatever that second group was called but really nobody cared at that point: you don't go from head of the show to a second-rate feud with another clan. And predictably not a single person from Nexus or Corre ever did anything with themselves due to nobody ever given an individual personality: which wasn't a bad thing at the time as it fit with the group's gimmick but at the very least Wade should've gone over big and in the end nothing changed and nothing was accomplished.

Then Wade wallows around the barren wasteland of WWE's midcard hell, doing and accomplishing almost nothing. Now he's got nothing left. His current character is awful and pretty much non-existent. At least let him come out with the rose and cloak and whatnot he had on NXT. He's decent in the ring and very good on the mic but now it seems he's been pushed to the side, which is unfortunate but needed, least until they repackage him and build him up from scratch again.
This post proves that you're indeed the man! I agree completely, but I'd take it one step further with the cloak and rose. While you're at it, let him come out with his previous theme (End of Days), go back to using Wasteland as his finisher, grow his hair out again, and shave the beard. Did I just suggest making him look exactly the way he did in 2011? YES, because it got him over. Wouldn't it have made more sense to bring him back the way he was right before he got injured instead of trying to establish his new look? He was already over the way he was, so stupid to repackage him just because he was out six months. They'll never learn.

They both suffered long injuries. They both led a stable (Nexus, Legacy). They are both Intercontinental Champions. There are some comparisons that could be made but I definitely don't think of Orton when I see Barrett or vice versa. I mean, first thing that comes to mind when I think of Barrett is that he's British. Orton is definitely not British.

I can't fucking stand Wade Barrett and I think he's the dullest mother fucker in the ring I've ever seen, coupled with some of the most overrated mic skills in WWE history.

HOWEVER...

The way he's been booked is completely fucking asinine. Nobody can expect to be over with WWE's up and down yo-yo type booking. What I'm referring to is looking strong one week, looking weak the next. Barrett can have a big win against Orton one week, and then job the next, meaning basically after two weeks he's in the exact same spot he was beforehand. NOBODY IS GETTING OVER BECAUSE OF THIS... Well, nobody besides Cena, Punk, Ryback, Alberto Del Rio, and Sheamus it seems, who win nearly every week.

HE IS YOUR INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPION FFS, and he's been slapped with some of the worst direction I've ever seen (800 matches with Orton in a row) alongside entrance music that screams JOBBER. I can't stand the guy, but to say that the ultimate payoff for the Nexus shouldn't have been at Wrestlemania XXVII with Cena going over Barrett for the WWE championship would be a fucking joke.

If ROCK never had to come back, I'm willing to bet that was the original plan, seriously.
