Ziggler defines overrated...

I tried to like this guy, and I guess I appreciate his work in the ring. However, there are better workers in the WWE than Ziggler. One of them is in the Shield, and Daniel Bryan is another that comes to mind. He has zero charisma, and I can't believe people think that this man should have been given the figure four. He sounds like a teen aged boy, and forgot to give Billy Gun his "look" back. I can't stand Cena, but in no way should he have worked with that nobody of a star Dolph Ziggler. Is there potential for Ziggler as a "face"? Possibly, but right now I know that is easily the most overrated talent on the roster that is in the position that they are in right now. The man is the MITB holder, and it means nothing right now.

I'm the furthest thing from a Dolph mark too. Never has done shit for me. Him against Jericho on the mic last night reminded me so very much why WWE was more entertaining in the past. Ziggler is just boring. He's there to shake his ass, scream like a maniac, and then take a shit ton of bumps until he inevitably loses. And yeah, his teenage voice and pretty boy "show off" persona don't help his credibility, but he's booked like a glorified midcarder anyway. Just a watered down mixture of Shawn Michaels, Mr Perfect, and Billy Gunn.

Yeah, he can put on a show to some extent, but that's it. He's insanely overrated with smarks, but casuals could care less about him. I just think he is what he's been for the past 7 years - a midcard heel. Not a top star.

Ziggler has zero charisma! Ziggler is full of charisma!, charisma this charisma that!, next HBK blah blah blah, and someone bring the definition of charisma from some web dictionary and start explaining how it fit or unfit Ziggler's persona... lately Ziggler convos are so full of win xD

Lol @ Meltzer being treated like god.

Meltzer gives Kurt angle much better match ratings than Ziggler, but from what I've seen of the two, Ziggler at this point is a much better than Angle.

are you comparing ziggler to angle now? Or in his prime like ziggler is? Because as much as a ziggler fan I am, saying he puts on better matches than angle is going over the top

sometimes i think people makes things way more complicated than they already are. I don't need to bring in mic work, in ring work and charisma to justified me liking a wrestler, i connect with him, sometimes is really that simple

I like the fact that he started off as a nobody and busted his ass off to get better, is he the best performer? no, I think not. is he my favorite? you can bet your asses.

Now.. with this in mind i can aknowledge his limits, but i thinks that his limits come from inexperience, he is a wwe guy, he know pretty much only that kind of world and like it or not, while many time our favorites seems buried by the booking, they are often protected, they don't get the chance to shine until they are ready (or vince thinks so anyway)

Ziggler didn't find himself often in a sink or swim situation, he never got the chance to tune up his character, his taunt, his in ring style and to understand what connects with the crowd.. i don't think dolph is a natural what he got comes from training and studying, so let the guy be, let him learn, he will tune things up the more wwe will let him free

yes, his promo often seems forced but sometimes he shows he can do a pretty good promo, the skills are there he only needs to master them

and about his in ring work, c'mon guys now, selling and bumping is not the only things he can do, just watch his match with bryan a few month ago, or his matches with sheamus, or his matches with cena.. is he the best? again, maybe no, but that doesn't make him necessary bad

sorry for my bad english

Ziggler bumps better than anybody

that alone makes his matches entertaining to watch

I think the OP mistakenly thought that we Ziggler fans would give a flying fuck what he thought...

If I cared what the rest of the IWC thought of my opinions, I'd be a pretty sad individual. Luckily, I don't. I think Ziggler is an awesome worker who, unlike 99% of the rest of the roster (Punk, Cesaro, Sandow and Cody being the exceptions) makes me want to watch what he does because I find him entertaining. His bumping is almost Mr. Perfect caliber, I like his mannerisms pertaining to his character (like the elbow drop collection he does) when he's in ring and he's just generally solid when it comes to wrestling skills.

Others may not like him, and that's fine. I fucking detest Daniel Bryan for my own reasons. Like whoever you want. I hear people constantly say that his gimmick is a ripoff...just about all gimmicks these days are ripoffs, why are you singling out one guy for it? You dislike Ziggler for other reasons, that's fine, just say so. Its the lame ass beating around the bush that pisses me, for one, off. A billion excuses to hide the truth that you just don't like his face or something because it irks you. Why not just say that to begin with? I can do it-I think Bryan is an ugly human being, when he's in the ring I think he's the equivalent of paint drying, I don't buy for one second that he can hang with guys like the Shield or Kane in a match, his current character pushes every button to irritate me and I think he's incredibly unconvincing on the mic. What might be worse are his marks on this site. See? Easy.

I'm failing to see the purpose of this thread. Someone posts an unpopular opinion and suddenly its 13 pages of arguing. Why do you give a shit what truk's opinion is, especially if it conflicts with yours? Ignore him.

People seriously need to learn the definition of the word, "charisma." Ziggler has a boatload of charisma. Where Ziggler fails to deliver is actual delivery. It is painfully evident that Ziggler will always sound awkward on the mic. He has gotten to the point where he can hold his own in a big feud with a top-flight star, but he'll never be "the man."

Does that make him overrated? I don't think so. I think he's properly rated where he is. Take the mean of all the hardcore Ziggler fans (like myself) and his detractors and voila.

I like ziggler alot and think he can have great great matches but he really needs to get rid of BIG E. I like the whole AJ thing because it reminds me of edge with lita or vickie. But I do not think he is overrated at all.

Whenever someone gets pushed after the IWC asked for it for months/years, suddenly a portion turns on that person and says he's overrated. It's fucking bullshit. He's not, he's fantastic and literally every "name" in the business that's not in the WWE anymore brings up Ziggler as a future star, they all love the guy and see a Curt Hennig in him. If they all like him, he must be doing something right? ;)

Why does he need to get rid of Big E? I like it, it's a mix of HBK/Diesel and Edge/Lita. It's not like Big E is hogging the camera either.

Ziggler is a guy who got fucking lucky because Barret was injured.
Bullshit.

Barrett's healthy now and he still sucks. How about that?

#137 ·
I don't think he's overrated, lord knows that word is thrown way too much around here. HOWEVER, he's perhaps loved too much for someone who has that typical shallow heel character. In the ring he is awesome, on the mic he's good too, but overall he needs to have a more interesting character/gimmick. Then again, that's a general problem in WWE. That's just me though, coming from someone who loves Ambrose, I clearly have a deep passion for complex characters.

Ziggler is a mid-carder and thats about it. he doesn't have an ounce of charisma and he is just terrible on the mic. only the IWC cares about his in ring work and he is also generic with his gimmick. wow another pretty boy blonde guy who is arrogant.

so it appears the only reason he should be a main eventer is because he can sell. really? thats your reasoning to put the belt on him because he sells well?

the only reason anyone knows his name is because he has been overly pushed to high heaven by whoever he is blowing backstage. he might be a head liner in say TNA but now in the WWE

You must hate The Rock.

#146 ·
What's with this 'X is a better worker than Y'?

Ziggler having zero charisma? Really?

By the way he isn't overrated in the slightest. Ziggler should be a main eventer, because he has proven that he can deliver in every aspect.

It's not that Ziggler has no charisma. It's because his charisma is subdued and still hasn't translated to television. Though I wouldn't grade his charisma as anything extraordinary, it's probably about average. Ziggler's biggest issue that he has had for his entire career is he seriously lacks the physical presence and natural star aura needed to be a top guy.

Physical presence like a guy like Brock Lesnar has who just shows up on television and everyone in the arena immediately pays attention to him without him doing a single thing. Though Brock is an exceptional and likely textbook definition of "presence" in that people have massive reactions to him on either end of the spectrum in the example that audiences burst out in "Holy Shit" chants merely by his entrance and him not even doing or saying anything.

Ziggler doesn't have this aspect and is why he overcompensates with his bumping to get noticed as said many times in interviews he does.
