Both Hollywood stars, both using that to attain success they have not earned, both casting a poor shadow on the other talent by their presence in the company.
Yes, The Rock was a great star. But past glories do not give you the right to go over a man like CM Punk, who - despite my personal distaste for the man - has just been getting more and more beat up.
Does Punk deserve to be mocked? To have this feud boiled down to the expression 'cookie puss' just because Rocky wants some cheap laughs?
Rock has done nothing but disrespect both Punk and the entire WWE with his childish remarks and no-selling of the longest reigning champion in 25 years.

He is negative influence on the company at this point. And I say that not from the perspective of a Cena fan, but a WRESTLING fan who doesn't enjoy Hollywood stars burying the guys in the trenches who've been trying to get the company back on track since Rocky went AWOL.
The more you post, the more convinced I am that you are actually John Cena.

But I legitimately don't think anyone has had the longevity and mass market appeal of Hulk Hogan until John came onto the scene.

Austin's run, as lauded as it was, was met with derision from numerous special interests groups. Whereas John is praised for his charity work, seen as a role model and beloved by children and adults worldwide.

In years to come, the kids you all hate will speak about John Cena the way you speak about The Rock and Steve Austin.

I get it, you don't like John's work. You think he's hokey, he lacks in-ring technical skills. But so did Hogan, Warrior, Andre, and they're rightly regarded as legends nowadays.
All I'm saying is give him a chance, don't be so quick to judge!
Ok lets start off with this Charity Work
1.John Cena is the most requested person for make a wish because he is marketed towards kids Cm punk,DB,Kane,Ziggler the whole roster all do make a wish even Rock but there persona's are directed at teen's and adults
2.kids May speak of join cena like rock and stone cold BUT you are forgetting about the Dirt that MAY Come out after john cena quits
3.As for giving john cena time iv given him 6 years (you need to change with the times in rocks match against goldberg after the match the rock did his first HollyWood Rock promo testing the water's because he knew when he came back he wouldn't have the connection and rock felt he needed to give his persona new life.(Just like every wrestler does changing from face to heel to face to heel)
4.And at this point in time i can't look at hogan and cena in the same light Maybe in a few years but not at this current time.

Negative my ass. He's boosted buyrates and ratings. Because of him, everyone gets a bigger paycheck.

He broke records at 'Mania last year, and I guarantee a 75-100k boost in buys for the Rumble this Sunday.

What has been soooo bad besides scripted insults?

Rock didn't have to come back, but he DID! Be fucking grateful that the Great One, a legend, and an icon, decided to return and grace are televisions and arenas one last time.

Mostly agree with this, but we could do without the 'grace us with his prescence' crap. Please, he is great when he is around but don't act like we are just waiting on our knees for his return once a year. That sorta thing really turns me off the Rock very quickly.

Yes, because if Cena wins it will give the biggest win of his career.

Grow up. Seriously.

1. Nothing wrong with being marketed towards kids, my friend Hogan was and I'm sure John also being geared towards a younger demographic is a big part of his success.

2. Hypothetical dirt that may be revealed in a hypothetical future. I've heard good things about John backstage, the only people to lambaste him are ex-stars who could well have an axe to grind against their former employer.

3. Consider, if you will, the huge merchandise sales associated with the John Cena persona. Is there any need for change when John has continually proved to be popular with this persona? Perhaps, years and years down the line he may change his gimmick somewhat. But I see no issue right now.

4. In a few years, perhaps you will. But the kids watching the show religiously, going to the live events, wearing the shirts, sitting on their Dads shoulder to get a good view of their hero - John Cena is THEIR Hulk Hogan!

ok here is the 1 thing wrestling is all about money IF Vince thought he could get another 100,000 buys putting Flair in a last man standing match he would

Rock = Money = Wrestlers get a bigger payday

and did you just tell me rock was No Selling....

What? Am I the only person that imagines when Rock returns, he starts dancing in the ring so elegantly in a suit while being worshipped by his millions and millions as if it's the second coming?

Lolz.
