Re: Is it safe to say that Punk is finally the #1 guy?
No, Punk isn't. Cena is. Cena has main evented constantly while Punk hasn't, even with the title.
As long as Cena is wrestling, Punk will never be the number 1 guy. Anyway, Punk said he only wants to wrestle a few more years. Cena will retire after Punk.

Punk's tweet about retiring in 2015 could have easily been BS to fuck with us. He said he'll be getting home in 2015, to make a pt about WWE's grinding schedule. Then when a fan said "you started a rumor about retiring in 2015," Punk responded "it aint a rumor if its true," which is a witty remark, not a way to tell fans he's thinking of retiring. He's a coward pussy heel who thus doesn't take a lot of crazy bumps, and he's the best storyteller today, he doesn't need to destroy his body to continue entertaining past the age of 36 (he'll be 36 in 2015). WWE will water down his matches like they do all their major stars when they get old, and Punk will do a better job than anyone else of entertaining with those limitations. No reason to retire at 36, especially when his next (and presumably last) contract will be his most lucrative, and then he's doing g-d knows what to make much less money for the rest of his life.
Also, ppl talk about the indy schedule like its some terrible grind, when its not. At most you wrestle 2-3 times a wkend, and that's if you actually manage to fill up your schedule and travel nationwide to the pt that travel costs make it counterproductive. Maybe some match styles are dangerous, but the schedule isn't the 200 shows per yr that WWE wrestlers deal with. So Punk hasn't been killing his body since 2000, he's been killing his body since 2005 or 2006 when he joined WWE. Guys tend to retire at 40 (with watered down matches at that pt, I'm sure), and Punk won't have fat or flabby muscles like bigger guys do.

Re: Is it safe to say that Punk is finally the #1 guy?
In my eyes, yes. But we all know in the eyes of the WWE' and Vince, Cena is still the golden boy.
The fact that he won the Superstar Of The Year award after his worst year on the business in terms of wins and storylines, and Punk retained his WWE Championship (in some of those matches against Cena itself) for the entire calendar year just proves that.
Re: Is it safe to say that Punk is finally the #1 guy?
The fact that Cena got Superstar of the Year at the tail-end of 2012, probably the *worst* kayfabe year of his entire career - ahead of the guy who has held the title for well over a year - absolutely fucking proves that, no matter what, Cena will always be number fucking one.

What if he won?
To me, if I see punk aginst Taker, thats saying he is on par with guys like HHH, HBK and all the other legends who fought him, those guys main even ted how many times combined?
that says punk is on the level of guys who have mainevented wm constantly

No, it doesn't. ACTUALLY main eventing WrestleMania does that. There's been a lot of throwaway Streak victims.

Or maybe like I was saying TAKERS match AND the WWE\what ever m,ain event ARE the main event, Punk has not been in either
Or maybe not. Unless you're doing WrestleMania in 2 seperate locations and these matches go on last AT THE SAME TIME, one of them is NOT a main event. Guess which one?
Quote:
What would you say if he fought taker and he stoped saying that? would you still say he knows what he is talking about?
No, because he'd be wrong then.
Quote:
Or maybe he just disagrees that the match he had was a main event, and in no way says anything about if he thinks only the last match matters
Ok, whatever. You're really reaching.
Quote:
Like i said taker is a SPECIAL match, just like at the rumble, the rumble comes on last, that dont mean the wwe title is not the main event either
Actually, that's exactly what it means.
Yeah, putting Punk with Undertaker at Mania is "special", all right. You know what I mean.

Thats no mif card no matter how many times you say it
Yeah, it's midcard regardless of how many times I say it, not because I'm saying it.
Losing to Taker at WrestleMania in the midcard is NOT better than main eventing WrestleMania. Nothing is better than main eventing WrestleMania.

Re: Is it safe to say that Punk is finally the #1 guy?
Yes there has, back when it did not matter, back when they did not promote it, it now gets arguably more time in adds and what not then the main event it self, many people GO for taker vs who ever
Taker's matches at one time meant nothing but not in the last at least 7 years if not ten.
now days its only the best of the best who face him, guys who are seen as even being better then
Cena in many ways (in terms of "HHH! HBK! etc)
Just like the rumble started out as nothing more then a special match and then became the 2nd biggest thing next to WM
The streak has become WM, it is WM, its a big freaking deal, in many ways better then the WWE title, this is once a year, the greatist streak in wrestling is on the line
They bring in JR for it, they bring in legends to say who they think is going to win they do just as much promting of it as the main event if not more
