I don't particularly understand the hate for his current position, he's been a key part in reviving the tag team division and at this point the longer he stays here the more over he gets. My prediction is they disband him from Hell No in the post-Wrestlemania period, and it's only upwards from there for him.
The first part also applies to Santino if we're going by that logic. He was massively over at one point and has a strong conection with the audience. Being popular as a midcard act (essentially what the WHC is) doesn't neccesserily always translate to the main event and it certainly doesn't make you "the best".

Revived the tag team division, honestly? HHH pushing the division made it relevant (not that it really is) while Bryan and Kane's comedy act completely overshadows the tag titles.

The humour was supposed to be that its funny to see the crazy characters of the WWE in a more normal everyday context, I mean the very concept of a monster who can create fire having to go through anger management seems kinda funny on its face, guess thats not your type of humour but I don't see you can't see how that could be funny to others.

2. D'Bry's current character is a bit silly, its meant to be to appeal to kids, not his choice I'm sure just an unfortunate bi-product of WWE's increased focus towards children.

3. D'Bry has already far surpassed Kurt Angle by so much it isn't even funny, Kurt is awesome and all, but D'Bry is just a step above thanks to his understanding of in ring physiology and ability to tell a compelling story between the ropes and I just don't understand how you can deny that D'Bry is charismatic as hell, he got over huge while the WWE were trying to bury him. Unlike Cena he wasn't just booked on top until people liked (little kids like winners) him he got himself over through charisma, talent and a hell of a lot of hard work.
I agree with the poster who said everybody has different tastes. How much greater is Sir Lawrenece Olivier as Richard III than Marlon Brando's performance as Don Vito Corleone? Is DeNiro that much better than Pacino?

I've been watching wrestling since 1987 and I'm in my mid-30s now. To me, there will probably never be anybody better in the ring than Chris Benoit, although Eddie Guerrero's matches are way more entertaining for me as I continue to age. Other than those two, Kurt Angle in his absolute prime was unbelievable. And people with different tastes will disagree with me.

It's not fair to Daniel Bryan to say that he's already far better than Angle, a guy who is arguably THE greatest shoot wrestler of all time in addition to being one of the greatest professional wrestlers that ever lived. And I'm a huge Daniel Bryan fan. I believe he has "it" and that the audience in whole generally loves him.

If Daniel Bryan eventually turns into some version of Bryan Danielson (a.k.a., ECW Taz meets Chris Benoit), he'll be a foundational piece for years to come. I'm convinced that time will come after Hell No runs its course. I don't think he'll ever be a Cena in terms of being the face of the company, but he can absolutely be an Edge in that aspect.

I generally believe professional wrestlers in the WWE hit their absolute primes between the ages of 35 and 42 years old. I am convinced that Daniel Bryan in his absolute prime will be almost universally hailed as the best wrestler in the world and as one of the all-time greats. But he's nowhere near his absolute prime as of right now.

Daniel Bryan does need to go back to Bryan Danielson (Chris Benoit).

The Kane thing, as I've said before, was by FAR the best part of the anger management segments. The rest was garbage. I truly pity those who thought it was funny.

Far surpassed Kurt Angle...what a dumb statement. Angle was one of the top performers in the industry at a time when there were so many guys fighting for that top spot that it was ridiculous. And we're talking legends fighting for that spot-Austin, Rock, Hunter, Taker, Kane, etc. And yet within a year they were confident enough in him to put the belt on him and book him like an extremely credible top heel, and they gave him a pretty solid run with the strap as well.

He had extremely good feuds with Rock, Austin, Brock, tons of the industry's top guys.

Bryan...hasn't.

He got himself over because the fans were annoyed that he got fucked at Wrestlemania. They saw it as an injustice. It had nothing to do with Bryan. Then they gave him the most irritating and blah catchphrases in years. Why do you think it got over? Because its easy. Its one simple, stupid word that means nothing that the fans can latch onto and blather over and over. Look at the What chants. We still get them pretty regularly, and they were exactly the same thing. Its not who said it, its that it was said and people for some god forsaken reason liked it. There are reports of people chanting YES at hockey games. How many of them do you think have heard of Daniel Bryan? Probably 5% max. Why do they chant it? Because its easy and they heard it somewhere else.

How much talent does it take to do what he does on the mic? None. Any moron can go out there and shout YES and NO. In fact, Del Rio couldn't get over, so they gave him the Mexican equivalent-Si. Now he's getting over. It has zero to do with Bryan or him being SO talented. Even the charismaless fucks like Del Rio can get over using it.

To compare someone like Angle who is extremely successful in wrestling to Bryan who has accomplished not even a fraction of that success is stupid. Its a blind Bryan mark statement.

Yeah I wouldn't say he surpassed Angle in any way. I think he can get there though. Mic skills take time, and Bryan's improving.

I'm not knocking Angle, I'm a fairly big fan of his, but as I said he is nowhere near as good at telling a story in the ring which is the top skill in professional wrestling and what separates a truly great professional wrestler from a merely really really good one. For instance, HBK was masterful at it, and Angle entertaining as he is, is a tad spotty.

As for the fact that D'Bry has accomplished less is that really it makes how ludicrously over he is even more impressive.

But all that said, if you really don't think that something about D'Bry's talent and ability got him over and he just got lucky starting the yes chant and people liking it then I dunno, you're being a bit blinded by your hatred. I really don't see how being chanting yes at a hockey game is anything other than proof of how great he is, a thing he came up with and got over, got so over it went mainstream. How is that a good thing?
