Not nearly as much as he should've been.

Nope he was finally pushed as his talent would dictate. He was finally rewarded for the immense talent he has as he should be. The best overall talent should be the top featured star in the company.

Punk has mostly played 2nd to Cena for the majority of his reign (how many PPVs did Punk go on last?). If it was not for The Rock, there is a good chance Cena's tv feud with Ziggler would be the headlining act on RAW.

If you are talking about TV time, promos sell matches so let Punk do what he does best.

I don't think so, at some points he was getting like 3 segments a show which made raw the CM Punk show but I think for majority of the year it was fine and to be honest I enjoy when punk is on TV so I don't mind.

Of course not. Don't be silly. It's been a heck of a run, and I'll be sad when it's over.

What? Uh... no? There's a huge difference between a push and being shoved down throats. Cena's run usually consists of him destroying his opponents while all the legends suck up to him and with him main eventing and starring in half the show every week, which is just an example of the latter. Punk doesn't main event or get nearly as much time every week and the WWE haven't gone to drastic lengths to get fans to love the guy.

The fact that people use the argument that Punk is not a star because he didn't main event for most of his title reign shows that he was not shoved down our throats.

No. "Shoved down our throat" just means we don't like the guy. No one ever liked every wrestler on the roster, but WWE still puts them out there either to keep trying or cuz they have a fanbase already. Orton, Barrett, Cena aren't being shoved down my throat, they're big reasons ppl watch pro wrestling. Cena and Punk are the two biggest stars today, by any standard of measurement, so they're not forced down our throat. WWE is giving these guys a lot of minutes on Raw because thats more viewership.

Uh... No. Punks run with the title has been good and the fact that they have allowed him to hold the title this long shows that he has solidified as a star.

AJ, Big Show, Heel ADR and face Sheamus on the other hand... ESPECIALLY AJ. I was probably the last person on this forum who still liked what they were doing with AJ... but not anymore.

Maybe we should conduct a poll among the people who have left WWE as viewers in record numbers? Perhaps - SHOCK - the champ of the flagship show has something to do with that? And it's not just the worst ratings since 1997. In 1997 they hadn't seen the highs WWE has seen since. RAW was shit in 1994/95. So there were no fans to lose. Plus it had big competition. Now, RAW has fans to lose, and its losing em. And it has no competition. So logically, its much much worse than it was in 1997. A 2.2 with no competition is worse than a 2.2 with gargantuan Time Warner competition. It's like being turned down by a prostitute.

CM Punk was rammed down our throats. And this is worse than even Cena being rammed down our throats. Because Cena ia a guy you can love to hate. Punk can neither solicit hate nor excitment. He can solicit neither heat nor pops. Dead heat is worse than bad heat. Cena has X-Pac heat, which is WAY higher up the status chain than dead heat.
