I didn't say anything about his character change. I said that he was NOT over as a heel, and he wasn't. He came out to crickets week after week. That all changed in the past few weeks with his turn.
I know, but I did because it ads up to my point. You say he was not over as a heel, but that is false. It was just something that became popular for some people on the IWC, while ADR proved his greatness since day one.
And what I meant with his character change from heel to face, is what you said "in the past few weeks". Sure, he's a face now, but the essential ADR is still the same. Still as good as he is, and was (heel or face).

Alberto Del Rio failed as a Heel (or being over) because there was nothing for a fan to hate him for. He didnít use his gimmick to his advantage, didnít react with the crowd in none of his matches and worked like a babyface wrestler when he is in action.
So far Iím really loving his new direction right now and Iím even more entertained from his matches.
I'm happpy for him, because he's an outstanding wrestler. Not the most charismatic or even the best talker, but his dynamic with Ricardo helps accommodate for that. Just shows how a freshening up of someone's character can really help them get out of the doldrums.
Bottom line, most guys in the PG era are better off being a face. Especially if you have a good look and presence as Del Rio does.
People can deny this all they want, but I guarantee you Wade Barrett would be more successful as a face. He has the look and presence to be a bad ass and if WWE pushed him as a face the crowd would actually respond to him. I know the IWC hates reading that because so many want him to be a top heel, but if you look at the wrestling climate, I know Im absolutely right.
