it's impossible to compare the two title runs, it's like comparing apples and oranges. two completely different time periods, that were looking for different types of champions.

You can credit Punk with being a draw for one ppv (mitb 11) and selling out one arena in Chicago.

Other than that he has hurt the tv ratings, hurt the ppv buy-rates, he has turned the championship belt into a prop. Nobody outsiude the IWC see him as a believable champ.

Bruno sold something like 50 000 tickets in Shea stadium and when Bruno was in a championship match he was always in the main event. Punk has not been a main event wrestler!

I want you to know that Bruno never faced the Rock. Also Punk is WWE champion in the GLOBAL era not regional.

Not really a comparison that's relevant outside of kayfabe.

Bruno was a regional champ, while the current WWE champs draw interest and money on a global scale. It's not the same kind of thing.

Not at all, even if Punk wrestled a lot more, Bruno still had it for like 7 years which is just incredible that you can stay relevant for that long in the entertainment industry.

Here is just 1964 ALONE for Bruno, and keep in mind he kept up this schedule for a pretty much a decade.

Punk couldn't carry Bruno's jockstrap, and I am not even a fan of Bruno. Didn't like his style personally, but come on, man! The guy busted his butt to a far greater degree than modern wrestlers do.
And people bitch about Cena and Hogan. If those 2 are Superman, then I don't want to know what Bruno is. I'm actually surprised wrestling didn't die that early with that boring ass dude as champion

Punk is more impressive because fans were complete morons back then. Bruno's run shouldn't count.

hell fucking no. Punk wasn't even booked as the top guy for like 70% of his reign.

Bruno was selling out the garden regularly being a fucking wrasslin GOD.
