I tend to agree. Against jobbers who he has pummeled, it's fine.
Against main eventers, however, it kind of makes them and him look like chumps. He should be putting them away without giving a fuck about playing to the crowd.
True. Same with Rock and that little song and dance he does before that elbow drop - stop playing to the crowd and just drop the elbow! That's what wrasslin' is all about damnit...
Showmanship is important in this game, surely you guys realise this?
Sure it isn't the greatest display of showmanship but he's trying - better than just doing the move, plain and simple - not adding any twists of his own to it.
Ryback shouldn't change anything right now. He's the most intense guy on the roster at the moment. Every time he does a promo I think his head is going to explode. He seems legitimately angry all the time.

He's gonna look goofy with or without the march... the march is terrible though. I laugh every single time and I don't think that's the reaction they are going for.
Rybacks character plays TOO much to the crowd and I think it will backfire in the end. He is either doing some pose or set up for a move or he is doing his "feed me______" chsnt. People will fet annoyed eventually and not xcare about him anymore.
Wish he would drop alot of things. The singlet, the march, the feed me more, the teeth......
Ahhh fuck it wish WWE would just drop him.
CM Punk, The Shield, Kane and The Undertaker Vs. Ryback in a Inferno, buried alive, TLC match, with a pipebomb and a lighter on a pole. Ryback never seen again.
How about Ryback drop his whole career? If he lost clean to someone tomorrow, that person wouldn't even a bigger star for it. He could leave right now, despite being over, and it wouldn't impact the show at all.
I think the fans chanting "Feed Me More" whenever the Shield shows up disagree with you. I'm not too high on him either (think he should still be a midcarder), but let's be honest with ourselves.
He has the march to allow some build up of the finisher. If he just picked his opponent up and then dropped them, it would not look as good (think running the ropes with the peoples elbow). It may look goofy but it helps get his finisher over.
The problem with the various goofy things Ryback does is that he's supposed to be a monster. Flapping his arms, leading the crowd in chants and marching around exaggeratedly doesn't give the monster vibe at all in my view.
There's a reason why you won't see Lesnar doing such things in his matches when he gets back.
And if you need that to get the finisher over, perhaps you're just doing the wrong thing. Remember the sounds of awe the crowd made when Cesaro did his finisher on Khali? That's how you get a power finisher over.
I'd want him to get a whole new finisher altogether but as long as he's sticking with that one, the walk around the ring is a decent build up and act of showmanship, it would look weak as hell without it.
Yeah, the march is a little awkward. I don't think it's as bad as when he first debuted but it's still a little goofy for a monster.
